Zeus unveils Apollo Pallet Wrapping System to slash plastic use

IRELAND – Zeus Packaging has introduced the Apollo Pallet Wrapping System, a groundbreaking innovation designed to reduce plastic consumption by up to 60%, streamline operations, and lower costs.

This advanced system also helps businesses significantly cut their carbon footprint and Scope 3 emissions, aligning with modern sustainability goals.

The Apollo system integrates advanced technology to empower businesses with real-time data on wrap usage, enabling informed decisions and optimized operations.

It combines Zeus-manufactured nano technology films with custom-fit pallet wrapping machinery developed through a global partnership with Noxon.

Sensors embedded in the machinery collect data and are fed into the Apollo monitoring software for actionable insights.

Zeus highlights that Apollo is engineered for maximum efficiency and minimal waste. Its nano-stretch film offers up to 300% stretchability, ensuring durability while reducing material use.

The system comprises high-performance machinery, user-friendly software, and Zeus’s performance films, delivering a seamless and efficient wrapping process.

One of the system’s standout features is its ability to improve holding force stability, which reduces the risk of pallet collapses during transportation.

Additionally, Apollo provides businesses with key metrics, including film net weight per pallet, real stretch wrap per pallet, meters used per pallet, pallets wrapped per roll, and total pallets wrapped within a specified period.

Keith Ockenden, CEO of Zeus Packaging Group, explained the system’s value: “By focusing on the true cost per pallet, we’re helping businesses achieve cost efficiency while prioritizing environmental stewardship.

“Apollo was developed to expose industry malpractice, such as selling film by weight instead of performance. With 24/7 monitoring, the system drives continuous improvement through targeted data.”

Apollo’s launch follows other advancements in palletizing technology. Last year, BW Flexible Systems unveiled the SYMACH 3500S palletizer for high-speed stacking of bags, bales, crates, and cases.

Its stacking cage minimizes product overhang, ensuring more stable pallets.

Meanwhile, BEUMER Group showcased its latest stretch hood technology at FACHPACK 2024. This innovation, compatible with recycled films, focuses on improving safety, efficiency, and ergonomics while advancing sustainability.

With Apollo and other innovations, Zeus Packaging reinforces its commitment to helping businesses balance operational efficiency with environmental responsibility.
