Tinkredible MGA system targets food and pet food can decoration.

GERMANY – Printing inks manufacturer Hubergroup Print Solutions is expanding the global availability of its Tinkredible MGA metal decoration ink system, a solution designed for food-safe metal packaging applications that is free from PFAS, bisphenol A (BPA) and mineral oils.
The low-migration ink series, developed for monobloc and three-piece metal cans, will be presented to international customers during Metpack 2026, scheduled to take place in Essen from May 5–8.
Hubergroup said the ink system delivers high print quality, strong process stability and compliance with global food safety standards, making it suitable for offset printing on metal packaging used in food and beverage as well as pet food products.
“Tinkredible MGA is not a new development, but a proven ink system with a long-standing reputation for quality and reliability,” said Jan Museler, Product Manager for Metal Decoration at Hubergroup.
“With its global rollout, we are enabling printers and brand owners worldwide to achieve the highest standards of safety, performance and design excellence.”
Engineered for demanding packaging conditions
Metal packaging used in food applications must withstand a variety of mechanical and thermal stresses during production and distribution.
According to Hubergroup, the Tinkredible MGA system has been engineered to meet these requirements while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The ink formulation offers high flexibility, low yellowing and strong resistance to heat and sterilization, enabling reliable performance on both coated and uncoated metal substrates.
Its chemical composition also provides enhanced resistance to scratches, moisture and external environmental influences, which are critical for maintaining print quality throughout the product lifecycle.
The inks can be used for a wide range of applications, including tuna cans and other long-shelf-life food packaging, where durability, regulatory compliance and consistent branding are essential.
The Tinkredible MGA portfolio includes process colours, opaque whites, metallic inks and specialty colours, supported by the company’s in-house mixing system for customised formulations.
This flexibility enables packaging printers and brand owners to develop distinctive metal can designs while meeting stringent safety and regulatory requirements.
Focus on safe and sustainable materials
The global rollout reflects increasing demand for safer and more sustainable packaging materials, particularly as regulators and brand owners move to eliminate substances of concern such as PFAS and BPA from food-contact materials.
During Labelexpo Europe 2025, Hubergroup representatives said the company is actively evaluating raw materials, including photoinitiators, to ensure future ink formulations deliver both safety and sustainability while maintaining high printing performance.
By expanding the availability of its PFAS-free metal decoration inks worldwide, Hubergroup aims to help packaging converters and brand owners meet evolving regulatory standards while maintaining high-quality, durable print performance for metal food packaging.
