INDIA – Detmold Group has opened a 19,000-square-metre fibre-based packaging manufacturing and warehousing facility in Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, consolidating its Indian operations at one site as the Australian-headquartered global packaging manufacturer targets growth in Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
The paper plant, which has been fully operational since late June, brings the group’s existing Indian operations together at one site.
The facility includes insulation, passive and active ventilation, and electronic monitoring and management systems, with the site designed to consider local conditions and energy efficiency.
CEO Sascha Detmold Cox stated that the new factory will continue to support existing customers while enabling growth in key markets including Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and locally in India.
Workforce Retention and Relocation
A vital component of the relocation was ensuring continuity of employment for the group’s valued workforce, thereby retaining the skilled team.
The company fully sponsored relocation costs for employees and their families, with the majority of the workforce moving to the new location. Detmold Cox noted that the company is delighted the majority of its workforce moved with them.

The facility is located 370 kilometres east of Mumbai in a region described as a growing industrial hub.
The 19,000-square-metre site combines manufacturing and warehousing operations, designed with insulation, passive and active ventilation, and electronic monitoring and management systems to consider local conditions and energy efficiency.
The location also provides access to established logistics networks, enabling efficient distribution to domestic and international customers while supporting the group’s growth strategy across Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
Detmold Group manufactures fibre-based packaging for food, healthcare and consumer goods sectors, with operations across Australia, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
The consolidation of Indian operations at the new facility is expected to improve operational efficiency and strengthen the group’s regional manufacturing footprint.
