Cosmo Speciality Chemicals (Cosmo First subsidiary) range: durable film ink adhesion for converters/printers under tough handling/storage.

INDIA – Cosmo Speciality Chemicals has launched CosmoFlex, an analog printable coating system engineered to boost printability and ink adhesion on flexible packaging and label films across BOPP and PET substrates.
Developed by Cosmo Speciality Chemicals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cosmo First Limited, the new range directly addresses a critical challenge for converters and printers: securing robust, long-lasting ink adhesion across film substrates while ensuring optimal performance under demanding handling and storage conditions.
CosmoFlex is an eco-friendly, ready-to-use primer that enhances printability and ink adhesion, formulated to reduce dependency on solvent-heavy pre-treatment steps that converters often rely on before printing.
Two Grades Target BOPP and PET Films
The product range includes two specialised solutions: CosmoFlex CB01, developed for BOPP films, and CosmoFlex CP02, developed for PET films.
The coatings offer broad compatibility across multiple printing methods, including water-based and UV flexo, UV offset, thermal transfer, screen and letterpress.
Rigorous testing confirms both products offer superior ink anchorage, rub resistance and print durability, according to the company.
Cold Chain Performance Extends Packaging Applications
Notably, their ability to maintain integrity under cold-water and deep-freezer conditions makes them suitable for demanding storage environments, regardless of the substrate or printing technology used.
This cold chain performance matters for frozen food, dairy and chilled convenience categories, where packaging must survive condensation, temperature fluctuation and handling without print degradation or adhesion failure.
Leadership Cites Converter Demand for Versatility
Piyush Gupta, business head at Cosmo Speciality Chemicals, said the printing and packaging ecosystem was evolving rapidly, with converters increasingly looking for solutions offering greater versatility without compromising print performance.
He added that CosmoFlex introduced a specialised coating solution enhancing printability and ink adhesion across BOPP and PET substrates while delivering performance in demanding conditions such as cold and deep-freeze environments.
He noted the launch reflected the company’s continued focus on developing application-led speciality coating solutions for the packaging and label industry.
CosmoFlex joins a portfolio engineered to enhance heat sealing, barrier protection, print quality and surface finishes, strengthening the company’s presence in the speciality coatings segment serving converters, printers and packaging manufacturers.
