The Type I U-Save vials, made for biologic formulations meeting stringent microbiological standards, target vaccines, central nervous system treatments, and systemic therapies.

FRANCE – SGD Pharma has broadened its pharmaceutical packaging portfolio with additional moulded and tubular glass containers alongside a third-party processing service, extending its offering across nasal, injectable and barrier-treated formats.
The company introduced MySterinity Nasal, an addition to its Sterinity line aimed at the nasal administration sector.
Developed for biologic formulations subject to stringent microbiological criteria, the Type I U-Save vials are intended for vaccines, central nervous system treatments and systemic therapies.
The units can be supplied in pre-washed, depyrogenated or sterilised states to support quality compliance, safety standards and overall total cost of ownership.
Offering containers at multiple preparation stages allows pharmaceutical manufacturers to align incoming materials with existing fill-finish capabilities rather than investing in additional washing or sterilisation infrastructure.
Ready-to-Use Tubular Vials Produced in Italy
The supplier also released ready-to-use tubular vials for sensitive injectable medicines.
Supplied washed, depyrogenated and sterilised for aseptic fill-finish workflows, the Type I containers are manufactured within an ISO 5 environment at the company’s facility in Felino, Italy, following its acquisition of Alphial.
The line provides clients with a single-vendor option for pre-treated tubular formats, simplifying qualification and supply chain management for drug manufacturers.
MySealian Service Offers Barrier Treatment Without Capital Outlay
Alongside the container lines, SGD Pharma launched MySealian, a Good Manufacturing Practice-compliant subcontracting service.
The operation permits pharmaceutical firms, original equipment manufacturers and third-party glassmakers to apply the Sealian internal barrier treatment to existing moulded containers without direct machinery expenditure.
The hydrophobic surface layer stops viscous liquids from adhering to inner container walls, assisting visual inspection, decreasing product residue and safeguarding delicate formulations.
Leadership Cites ESG Framework and Innovation
Olivier Rousseau, chief executive of SGD Pharma, said that one year after the acquisition of Alphial, the company was well positioned to address evolving challenges in the pharmaceutical industry, offering products and solutions across both moulded and tubular glass primary packaging.
He added that the company was particularly proud the innovations were developed within a comprehensive environmental, social and governance framework, ensuring sustainability considerations were embedded from the outset of every project.
For pharmaceutical packaging supply chains, the expansion reflects growing demand for ready-to-use formats that reduce contamination risk at fill-finish stages while supporting cost control.
