Albéa, Drunk Elephant partner to promote sustainable skincare packaging

MEXICO – Albéa Cosmetics and Fragrance has extended its partnership with the U.S.-based skincare brand Drunk Elephant, focusing on sustainable packaging solutions for three key skincare products.

This collaboration not only highlights the industry’s growing shift toward environmentally responsible practices but also underscores the business value of aligning with eco-conscious consumer trends.

Albéa spokesperson saidDrunk Elephant’s serums, D-Bronzi, O-Bloos, and B-Goldi, feature a polypropylene cap, high-density polyethylene reducer, and medium-dense polyethylene tottle.

“The cap and reducer are produced in Matamoros, Mexico, on the US-Mexican border, which improves supply chain efficiency for an American cosmetics brand like Drunk Elephant.

“This collaboration exemplifies our shared commitment to providing sustainable beauty solutions that meet the expectations of eco-conscious consumers.”

Drunk Elephant’s new serum bottles are crafted using advanced injection molding and extrusion blow molding techniques.

This partnership reflects Albéa’s strategic investment in expanding its manufacturing capacity in sustainable solutions, catering to a growing demand for environmentally friendly packaging.

According to the Plastic Pollution Coalition, the personal care sector is among the most wasteful, producing nearly 7.9 billion units of rigid plastic in the U.S. alone in 2018, much of which ended up in landfills due to insufficient recycling infrastructure.

Albéa and Drunk Elephant’s initiative is a significant step forward but also highlights the need for systemic improvements in recycling systems.

This collaboration comes amid a broader industry shift, with companies like Spectra Packaging innovating sustainable solutions.

Spectra provided Dermosil’s Juicy Jams body wash range with eco-friendly designs featuring vibrant patterns and translucent bottles.

By championing sustainability without compromising functionality or aesthetics, Albéa and Drunk Elephant exemplify how businesses can thrive while addressing pressing environmental challenges.

Their efforts not only resonate with eco-conscious consumers but also set a high bar for the future of beauty packaging.
