The lineup, Hamada L1 (one station/one colour), L2 (two stations/two colours), and L4 (four stations/four colours), uses the same basic printing stations across every model.

SOUTH AFRICA – AM.CO.ZA has announced a new range of offset printers, the Gutenberg Hamada Range, available in three configurations covering single-colour, two-colour and four-colour production.
The range comprises the Hamada L1, a single-station, one-colour machine, the L2, which has two stations for two colours, and the L4, which has four stations for four colours.
The basic printing stations are the same across the range.
The L2 essentially doubles up the L1, and the L4 doubles it up again, so users can choose the configuration that matches their production requirements and budget rather than committing to capacity they do not need.
Feeder and Delivery Systems Support Registration
The machines have a variable-speed motor and a strong vacuum pump, while the feeder has blow separation, height control and a double-sheet detector.
A pull-side lay assists with registration, and the delivery system uses a slow-down suction brake as sheets come through.
These features address recurring challenges in offset printing, where sheet misalignment and double feeds generate waste and require operator intervention, reducing effective throughput on short-run work.
Demonstration Day Scheduled for 10 October
On 10 October 2026, AM.CO.ZA is hosting a Gutenberg Hamada Single Station Open Demo Day.
The company has been working with a team of experienced printing engineers to prepare a Gutenberg Hamada L1 single-station, one-colour machine for demonstration.
It has also fitted the machine with a numbering and perforating finisher, so visitors will see more than just the printing side of the equipment.
The machine will be running, the numbering and perforating finisher will be ready, and a team will be on hand to answer questions.
Offset Equipment Demand Persists in African Print Markets
Offset presses continue to serve commercial printers, packaging converters and label producers across African markets, where digital systems complement rather than fully replace analogue equipment for longer runs and specific substrate requirements.
Compact single and multi-colour offset machines suit smaller print businesses seeking to bring work in-house rather than outsourcing, while modular ranges allow gradual capacity expansion without replacing entire production lines.
For packaging printers, adding colour stations and finishing attachments supports short-run carton, label and promotional print work where flexibility determines competitiveness against larger competitors operating higher-volume equipment.
