Kodak expands portfolio with PROSPER Plus 5 imprinting system

PROSPER Plus 5 for printers/converters: variable data, coding, serialisation, personalisation, versioning, no equipment swap; higher margins, faster response, new revenue.

UNITED STATES – Kodak has expanded its PROSPER Plus portfolio with the PROSPER Plus 5 Imprinting System, a 152 metre per minute solution that adds Stream Inkjet Technology to existing presses and finishing lines.

With 600 by 900 dpi resolution, flexible drop size options and enhanced reliability, the system supports applications including direct mail, packaging, security printing, lottery and personal care, enabling printers to pursue higher-value work from existing production assets.

Designed for printers and converters, the PROSPER Plus 5 enables variable data printing, coding, serialisation, personalisation and versioning without replacing current equipment, giving them flexibility to expand into higher-margin applications, respond faster to changing customer demands and generate new revenue from assets they already own.

Stream Technology and EKTACOLOR Inks Underpin Performance

Powered by Stream Technology and KODAK EKTACOLOR Inks, the new imprinting system combines image quality, speed and operational simplicity with the latest PROSPER Plus platform enhancements designed to improve serviceability, streamline connectivity and maximise uptime in demanding production environments.

Adding variable data capability to existing analogue equipment allows packaging converters to produce versioned and serialised output without investing in a standalone digital press, an approach that suits converters handling mixed order profiles.

Portfolio Renaming Simplifies Product Range

Kodak is also simplifying its existing portfolio by renaming PROSPER Plus 1/1W and PROSPER Plus 2/2W to PROSPER Plus 10 and PROSPER Plus 20.

Together with the KODAK PROSPER Print Bar, the PROSPER Plus family gives printers and converters scalable imprinting options.

Existing PROSPER S-Series customers will continue to receive full-service support, with upgrade options available as production needs evolve.

The naming change reduces confusion across the range and clarifies performance tiers for buyers comparing systems.

Leadership Cites Investment in Print Industry

Laura Cole, vice-president of pricing and product management at Kodak, said the new addition to the PROSPER portfolio reflected continued investment and ongoing commitment to the print industry.

She added that with the PROSPER Plus 5, Kodak was helping printers modernise existing production assets, unlock new revenue opportunities and deliver the personalisation, traceability and flexibility that today’s markets demand.

For packaging and label converters, imprinting systems offer a route to serialisation and versioning compliance without replacing press infrastructure, particularly as traceability requirements tighten across pharmaceutical, food and consumer goods supply chains.
