SWITZERLAND – Amcor has partnered with Insymmetry to develop an innovative 2oz retort bottle, addressing the increasing demand for durable, shelf-stable packaging.
This breakthrough solution, designed for low-acid, shelf-stable products such as coffee and dairy-based beverages, is the first to feature Amcor Rigid Packaging’s (ARP) proprietary StormPanel technology.
The bottle withstands high-pressure retort sterilization while maintaining product integrity and premium aesthetics, providing manufacturers with a cost-effective and scalable alternative to aseptic processing.
Stellify, a beverage brand owned by Insymmetry, is the first to adopt StormPanel technology for its Dulce de Leche Energy and Espresso Energy wellness shots. These innovative products will debut at Natural Products Expo West 2025.
Meeting industry demands with StormPanel Technology
The StormPanel bottle directly responds to evolving market needs for reliable, high-performance packaging that meets stringent industry standards, including the Real California Milk seal.
Designed for health-conscious consumers, the compact 2oz bottle offers a convenient, on-the-go solution while ensuring long shelf life and product safety.
“At Amcor, we are committed to driving innovation that meets the changing needs of the food and beverage industry,” said Greg Rosati, Vice President of Strategy and Marketing at ARP.
“Our StormPanel technology allows brands to elevate shelf-stable, low-acid beverages with a compact, ready-to-use solution.”
Beyond consumer convenience, the retort process presents a cost-effective and time-efficient alternative to aseptic processing.
It reduces upfront equipment investments, streamlines production timelines, and maintains product quality.
“Amcor’s expertise in packaging innovation allowed us to develop a solution that meets our unique needs,” said Josh Cua, Chief Innovations Officer at Insymmetry.
“By leveraging their advanced material science and manufacturing capabilities, we created a retort-compatible bottle that meets the growing consumer demand for preservative-free nutritional shots.”
Designed with StormPanel technology, the 2oz retort bottle maintains its shape and structural integrity even under the extreme heat and pressure of retort sterilization.
This ensures a 12-month shelf life without refrigeration while preserving product quality. The design features strategically placed panels that provide stability, allowing certain areas to flex under pressure without compromising aesthetics or durability.
“This collaboration highlights Amcor’s ability to combine industry expertise with advanced engineering to solve complex packaging challenges,” concluded Mikey Tom, Business Development Manager at ARP.
“We’re proud to deliver a high-performance solution that meets the demands of both manufacturers and consumers.”
