Antonine Printing Inks partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain for the certification

UK – Independent ink manufacturer Antonine Printing Inks has achieved carbon-neutral certification, a significant step in its sustainability journey.
The certification, granted through a partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain, recognizes the company’s efforts to measure, reduce, and offset its carbon emissions to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas output.
Based in Scotland, Antonine Inks specializes in custom-built ink dispensing systems integrated with Windows software and produces high-strength base inks for the packaging industry.
Kenneth Thomson, managing director, stated, “This marks a huge milestone in our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices.”
The company has implemented strategies to minimize its environmental impact, including energy-efficient production processes and carbon offset initiatives.
Thomson emphasized that Antonine Inks will continue collaborating with Carbon Neutral Britain and other organizations to further its sustainability goals.
Innovations in sustainable inks
Antonine Inks has also invested in research and development to enhance its eco-friendly ink formulations.
According to industry updates, the company is exploring bio-based pigments and water-based inks to reduce reliance on petroleum-based materials.
These innovations aim to improve the recyclability of printed packaging, supporting the industry’s shift toward a circular economy.
The firm’s high-strength inks are designed for flexible packaging, ensuring vibrant colors while minimizing environmental harm.
A recent report highlights that Antonine Inks’ certification aligns with growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
In 2025, the global eco-friendly inks market is projected to reach US$8.57 billion, driven by consumer preference for environmentally responsible products.
Antonine’s efforts contribute to this trend, as its inks are formulated to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and enhance packaging recyclability.
Thomson noted that sustainability is a core focus, with ongoing projects to integrate renewable resources into production.
“We are committed to protecting our planet through continuous improvement,” he said.
