UK – Packaging and labeling company Ardagh Glass Packaging Europe (AGP – Europe) has partnered with B&B Studio and Belvoir Farm to design a new glass bottle design for Belvoir Farm’s new drinks range.
The latest range of non-alcoholic Botanical Sodas will now come in a 500ml flint glass bottle with 45% recycled glass content that is recyclable and weighs 380g.
AGP – Europe, a business unit of Ardagh Group, said the bottle has a short neck that curls into the tall, slim bottle profile, giving it a vintage design to stand out on shelves.
The graphic features on the bottle were created by the design team at AGP Europe using their digital in-house embossing method.
This method is said to preserve the integrity of the glass and safeguards the fizzy beverage within, said the packaging firm.
A recessed ring around the base of the bottle has the inscription “crafted with botanicals” in addition to the embossed “Belvoir Farm” logo.
According to the packaging firm, the appealing, big labels with artwork contribute to the attractiveness for customers, who are currently consuming a rising amount of these beverages.
The entirely recyclable glass bottles are filled in the business’s solar-powered bottling hall, which produces up to one-third of their electricity needs and are in line with Belvoir Farm’s sustainability goals.
Meanwhile, the glass packaging company was recently awarded the prestigious platinum rating – the highest sustainability ranking awarded by EcoVadis.
The Platinum rating recognizes Ardagh’s responsible and sustainable business practices and underlines the scope and ambition of its sustainability efforts. Ardagh is now part of the top 1% of companies recognized with a platinum EcoVadis rating.
The new rating identifies Ardagh’s performance and transparency across four appraisal themes – labor and human rights, environment, sustainable procurement and ethics.
Ardagh’s sustainability efforts have also recently been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
“The EcoVadis rating is an important sustainability rating for our customers to whom we supply infinitely recyclable metal and glass packaging,” said John Sadlier, Chief Sustainability Officer, Ardagh Group.
“Together with our recent SBTi approvals, EcoVadis platinum rating demonstrates how we have integrated sustainability into every aspect of our operations. We really are delivering strong sustainability performance across our business.”
Ardagh has a clear goal of alignment with the UN and Paris Climate Agreement of 2015 in achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
