Higher inbound logistics and raw material costs pressured margins in the quarter.

NIGERIA – Beta Glass has reported a 13.8 percent second-quarter revenue increase to ₦42.18 billion (US$26.4 million), lifting first-half revenue to ₦79.71 billion (US$49.9 million) as the Nigerian glass packaging manufacturer’s dynamic pricing model aims to offset higher logistics and input costs while sustaining strong export demand.
The company’s Q2 2026 performance lifted half-year revenue by 1.9 percent year-on-year from ₦78.23 billion (US$49.0 million) in H1 2025, against an unusually strong comparative base set by early-year customer front-loading in the prior year.
Second-quarter profit after tax stood at ₦8.35 billion (US$5.2 million), bringing half-year earnings to ₦16.16 billion (US$10.1 million), with earnings per share reaching ₦26.93 (US$0.017).
Double-Digit Growth and Cost Pressures
The strong Q2 expansion was driven by sustained customer demand in both local and export markets, with Beta Glass exporting to countries including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Togo and South Africa.
However, elevated inbound logistics and raw material costs weighed on margins during the quarter.
CEO Alex Gendis stated that the company’s underlying cost base remains well managed, but higher costs weighed on margins, and the company’s dynamic pricing model will account for these factors to progressively support margin recovery in the second half of the year.
Local Manufacturing Impact and CEO Outlook
The company has injected over ₦1 trillion (US$626 million) into Nigeria’s domestic economy over the past decade, accounting for nearly one percent of the nation’s entire manufacturing sector output and 14 percent of the non-metallic products sub-sector, according to an independent Deloitte socio-economic impact report.
Gendis said the company remains focused on maintaining high product quality, driving operational efficiency and sustaining strong service delivery across all market segments, with the company trading ahead of internal targets when adjusting for the strong 2025 comparative base.
Beta Glass’s market capitalisation stood at ₦348 billion (US$218 million) following the results release, with the company’s shares trading at ₦58.00 (US$0.036) per share on the Nigerian Exchange.
