NORTH AMERICA – Cheer Pack North America has partnered with Aptar Closures to integrate SureSnap valve technology into its SqueezeNSip spout, dispensing contents only when squeezed and sealing upon release to prevent mess.
The SureSnap system combines an elastomeric valve with a polyolefin retaining ring, available in different sizes, opening pressures, and flow rates.
Pouches fitted with the SqueezeNSip spout use up to 60 percent less material than rigid plastic bottles, offering a lightweight alternative for on-the-go consumption by both adults and children.
How the Valve Works
The elastomeric valve opens only when the pouch is squeezed, dispensing product at a controlled rate. When pressure is released, the valve immediately seals, preventing drips, spills, and contamination.
This “no-spill” functionality is particularly valuable for children’s lunchboxes, active lifestyles, and applications where single-handed operation matters.
The technology works with all three closure types for the SqueezeNSip Spout: ClassicCap, Vizi cap, and CheerValue simple cap.
Jordan Kinsler, Aptar Closures North America sales manager, explained that the company is excited to partner with Cheer Pack to expand SureSnap technology further into the spouted pouch market.
He expressed confidence that the valve will elevate product dispensing experiences for customers of all ages by providing superior cleanliness and functionality.
Material Efficiency and Sustainability
The 60 percent material reduction compared to rigid bottles translates directly into lower transport emissions, reduced packaging weight, and less waste at end-of-life.
Flexible pouches with spouts are increasingly replacing rigid bottles in categories such as children’s drinks, yogurt smoothies, and sports beverages, where portability and convenience drive purchasing decisions.
SureSnap valves are phthalate- and BPA-free and made from food-grade materials, meeting safety standards for direct food contact.
A Decade of Collaboration
Aptar Closures and Cheer Pack have worked together on pouch, spout, and valve systems for the past ten years. Al Madonna, vice president of marketing at Cheer Pack North America, expressed pride in the long-term relationship with Aptar.
He noted that by aligning Aptar’s dispensing valve technological leadership with Cheer Pack’s SqueezeNSip flow-control spouted pouch innovation, the companies are helping beverage brand owners expand usage occasions and deliver an enhanced consumer experience.
The Squeeze That Seals Itself
A pouch that spills is a nuisance. A pouch that leaks in a child’s backpack is a disaster.
Cheer Pack and Aptar have engineered a valve that solves both problems, opening only when squeezed, sealing the moment pressure stops.
With 60 percent less material than a rigid bottle and a decade of collaboration behind it, the SqueezeNSip spout proves that sometimes the best packaging innovation is not what you add, but what you keep inside.
