GERMANY – European packaging company, Coveris is poised to unveil its latest sustainable packaging solutions for the food industry at the upcoming Anuga FoodTec exhibition in Germany in 2024.
This event serves as a platform for Coveris to showcase its innovative BarrierFresh MAP skillets, meticulously designed to extend the shelf life of sandwiches.
Aligned with Coveris’ commitment to reducing food waste, these skillets regulate the pack’s atmosphere, ensuring products remain fresh for longer periods. They also offer exceptional product visibility, branding opportunities, and robust protection.
In addition to the MAP skillets, Coveris will introduce its expanded range of recyclable MonoFlex films and laminates, crafted from polyethylene and polypropylene. These materials serve as direct substitutes for non-recyclable plastics, maintaining shelf life and performance across various food sectors including meat, fresh produce, poultry, and dairy.
Moreover, Coveris will showcase its 100% paper-based block bottom bags, tailored for brands in the bakery, dried foods, confectionery, and snack industries. These bags provide effective barrier protection against external elements while offering a sustainable packaging alternative.
Katja Killian, Coveris BU Flexibles Business Development Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability, stating: “At Coveris, we have constructed our entire sustainability strategy around the vision of No Waste. Our packaging aligns seamlessly with this strategy, offering sustainable yet highly efficient and protective solutions.”
The Anuga FoodTec exhibition, scheduled from 19 to 22 March 2024 in Cologne, provides an ideal platform for Coveris to showcase its innovative products and sustainability initiatives.
Additionally, Coveris will demonstrate its forward-thinking sustainable solutions at Packaging Innovations 2024, the UK’s leading industry event for the packaging supply chain.
This event, set to take place at the NEC, Birmingham from 21 to 22 February 2024, underscores Coveris’ dedication to minimizing environmental impact while maximizing benefits across its value chain.
Among Coveris’ innovations is the MonoFlex Thermoform, a recyclable and sustainable alternative to non-recyclable materials currently used in thermoforming packaging for food sectors.
This advancement reflects Coveris’ commitment to reducing carbon footprint while offering adjustable barrier properties and robust puncture resistance for various food markets, including meat, dairy, and bakery.
With a focus on operational efficiency and environmental sustainability, Coveris continues to lead the way in delivering innovative packaging solutions that meet the evolving needs of the food industry while minimizing environmental impact.
