EcoCortec expands VCI packaging plant

This strategic expansion addresses rising stock volumes and sales growth.

CROATIA – EcoCortec, the leading European manufacturer of sustainable corrosion protection film packaging, is excited to announce the launch of a new logistic centre building project.

The new facility will integrate the existing operations to create a cohesive and highly efficient hub for storage and logistics.

This strategic expansion, which addresses rising stock volumes and sales growth, underscores the company’s unwavering dedication to fulfilling the increasing demand for its environmentally friendly corrosion protection products.

The expansion involves acquiring two nearby buildings, which will be connected to forming a single, cohesive central logistics center and warehouse.

This integrated facility will not only store finished products but also store raw materials, hence significantly optimizing EcoCortec’s inventory management and logistical operations.

According to the company, the new logistic center is expected to be fully operational within the following year.

“We are incredibly excited about this expansion, which marks a significant milestone for our plant,” said BorisMiksic, CEO of Cortec Corporation.

“We not only want to be the best provider of green anti-corrosion packaging for our clients; we also want to provide our service in the most sustainable way possible. “

Established in 2007, EcoCortec has shown remarkable growth over the years.

The company has quickly become one of Europe’s leading producers of anti-corrosion packaging solutions, aligning with its vision for sustainable corrosion protection.

The expansion initiative resulted from continuous innovation of corrosion protection solutions and quick responsiveness to market demand.

This success has been driven by continuous innovation of corrosion protection solutions and quick responsiveness to market demand.

The plant offers a variety of VCI (Vapour Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging options, including stretch and shrink films, ESD packaging, bio-based compostable packaging, large 3D bags, and resealable bubble bags.

Many of these packaging solutions are available in PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) versions.

In 2022, EcoCortec completed a polymer processing facility and a regranulation facility, where the plant’s waste materials are recycled and repurposed.

“Our commitment to the circular economy is evident in every step we take. We pioneered European-wide initiative for collecting and recycling used films, integrating up to 30% recycled content into new products,” says Miksic.

By centralizing inventory within a larger, more streamlined facility, EcoCortec can enhance its supply chain performance, shorten lead times, and better position itself to scale operations in response to the surging demand for sustainable packaging solutions.

The close location of the new logistics center to the EcoCortec plant will foster stronger integration between production and distribution operations.

This recent expansion, coupled with a growing workforce and a robust export presence in Europe, Asia, and the USA, underscores EcoCortec’s transformation from a budding facility into a prominent force in the VCI packaging industry.
