Spectra and Bumboo partner to revolutionize packaging with POP and PCR reusable bottles

This initiative not only supports the shift toward refillable and reusable formats but also underscores the growing demand for packaging that actively diverts plastic from marine environments.

UK – Spectra Packaging and Bumboo have joined forces to launch a new line of reusable household cleaning bottles made entirely from Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.

The collaboration centres on Spectra’s 500ml Tall Boston bottle design, featuring a 28/410 neck finish and a trigger spray closure.

These bottles are manufactured using 100% recycled PET sourced from ocean-bound plastic waste, aligning with both companies’ shared mission to reduce environmental impact.

The translucent amber hue and minimalist one-pass print reinforce Bumboo’s clean, eco-conscious aesthetic.

Bumboo’s CEO, Rob Ingham, emphasized that the partnership reflects a mutual commitment to sustainability, stating, “We’re so excited about our new cleaning range, designed to help people clean their homes without compromising their health or the planet.”

“Our new cleaning range is designed to help people clean their homes without compromising their health or the planet.”

He added, “Partnering with Spectra Packaging was the perfect fit for us; their POP bottles align completely with our mission to reduce waste and create sustainable alternatives to everyday products.”

This initiative not only supports the shift toward refillable and reusable formats but also underscores the growing demand for packaging that actively diverts plastic from marine environments.

This partnership is particularly timely, as the market continues its shift toward refillable and reusable formats, driven by growing consumer concern about plastic pollution.

As of 2025, the global market is valued at approximately USD 47.7 billion and is projected to reach USD 59.2 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 4.4% to 5.7%, depending on the source, according to a report by Grand View Research.

In March 2025, Spectra Packaging collaborated with Scottish Fine Soaps, a skincare company based in Scotland, to create luxury and sustainable bottles for their Sea Kelp range.

These recent initiatives signal a promising shift in the future of packaging, where luxury, functionality, and sustainability converge.

Collaborations like these between Spectra Packaging, Scottish Fine Soaps, and Bumboo illustrate how innovation and eco-consciousness are no longer mutually exclusive.

As the industry embraces reusable materials like POP and PCR, and designs packaging with both elegance and environmental responsibility in mind, it paves the way for a more circular, responsible, and forward-thinking packaging landscape.
