The Bengaluru plant will manufacture the company’s entire packaging equipment range, from filling and labelling machines to complete turnkey bottling lines.

INDIA – Krones has inaugurated a Rs 315 crore (US$37.7 million) packaging and bottling machinery facility in Bengaluru, spanning 600,000 square feet and designed to produce filling, packaging and labelling systems for India’s food and beverage sector.
The German equipment manufacturer’s new plant, located in the Bengaluru Aerospace Park, was inaugurated on 19 August 2026 and will serve as a manufacturing base for systems handling up to 72,000 containers per hour.
The facility, which currently employs 350 people, is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs as production scales up.
The Bengaluru plant will produce the company’s full range of packaging equipment, from filling and labelling machines to complete turnkey bottling lines.
Strategic Manufacturing Hub for Indian and Regional Markets
Krones’ Bengaluru facility represents the company’s largest investment in India, with the plant designed to serve not only the domestic market but also export to South and Southeast Asian markets, Africa and the Middle East.
The company selected Bengaluru for its robust industrial ecosystem, access to engineering talent, and proximity to its growing customer base in India’s rapidly expanding food and beverage sector.
India’s packaging machinery market is estimated at US$4.5 billion and is growing at approximately 12 percent annually, driven by rising urbanisation, increasing consumption of packaged foods and beverages, and growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions across the FMCG sector.
Technology and Sustainability Features
The facility incorporates Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT-enabled equipment, real-time production monitoring, and advanced automation systems that enable remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance.
The plant is designed with a focus on sustainability, featuring energy-efficient systems, water recycling capabilities, and waste reduction protocols aligned with Krones’ global environmental standards.
Krones India has already established a strong presence in the country, with its equipment used by major beverage companies including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, and Parle Agro, as well as numerous food and pharmaceutical packaging companies across the region.
The new Bengaluru plant includes dedicated R&D and application centres to help local customers test new packaging formats and production line configurations without disrupting their existing operations, accelerating innovation and reducing time-to-market for new packaging concepts.
