Sealed Air’s paper cushioning system optimises tight pack stations with 120ft/min output

The ProPad Mini handles both one-ply and two-ply fanfold paper, ideal for e-commerce, 3PL, and distribution operations.

NORTH AMERICA – Sealed Air has launched the ProPad Mini, a compact paper cushioning machine designed for space-constrained fulfilment sites, capable of producing custom-length pads at speeds of 120 feet per minute to support light and medium cushioning applications.

The new SEALED AIR® brand system offers flexible mounting options including shelf, tabletop, swing arm or floor stand configurations to suit varied packing area layouts.

It produces paper pads starting at six inches and features a repositionable touchscreen HMI with ergonomic foot pedal controls.

The ProPad Mini accommodates both one-ply and two-ply fanfold paper, making it suitable for e-commerce, third-party logistics and distribution operations.

Space-Saving Design and Operational Efficiency

The ProPad Mini is engineered to reduce operator movement and support more efficient workspace utilisation in fast-paced conveyor lines and work cells.

Its compact footprint enables seamless integration into pack stations where space is at a premium, with multiple configuration options including six adjustable dispensing-head angles.

Byron Racki, Sealed Air’s Global Protective President, stated that customers need protective packaging solutions that can scale with their operations, and the ProPad Mini fills an important role by offering a flexible, easy-to-use paper cushioning solution for smaller workspaces while delivering the protective performance and operational reliability customers expect.

The system is designed to support growing e-commerce fulfilment operations where speed and efficiency are critical to maintaining throughput while minimising packaging material waste.

Sustainability and Supply Chain Integration

The ProPad Mini is backed by Sealed Air’s integrated paper supply network, which includes a closed-loop water system to process recycled fibre feedstock at its paper mills.

The system supports the company’s circular economy innovation strategy by enabling fibre-based protective packaging alternatives that can be reused or kerbside recycled where appropriate services are available.

The launch expands Sealed Air’s portfolio of paper cushioning solutions alongside AUTOBAG® brand automated packaging systems and BUBBLE WRAP® brand protective materials.

The machine’s water-based inks and reduced material waste align with growing customer demand for sustainable packaging options that maintain performance standards while reducing environmental impact.

The ProPad Mini’s ability to produce on-demand cushioning reduces the need for pre-made void-fill materials, lowering storage requirements and minimising excess inventory waste across distribution networks.
