EUROPE – FANUC Europe Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Ghirardello as the new President and CEO.
Ghirardello succeeds Shinichi Tanzawa, who has been leading the company since 2016 and will return to FANUC Headquarters for a new assignment. His contribution to FANUC Europe over the past years is highly appreciated.
On his appointment, Ghirardello said: “It is a great honour and responsibility for me to take over the lead of FANUC Europe, and I look forward to working closely with our customers and partners to build their competitiveness in the market and shape the future of the automation industry.”
Ghirardello, who has been with FANUC since 1994, brings a broad experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President of FANUC Europe, leading the Factory Automation business unit, which includes FANUC’s important CNC control business.
His previous roles included Managing Director for FANUC Turkey and then FANUC Italy, where he played a crucial role in the company’s expansion in this key European market.
“With our high-quality products, global service network and strong organizational capabilities, we will continue to drive technological excellence in the automation industry across Europe,” added Ghirardello.
Macsa ID appoints new sales director
Meanwhile, Macsa ID UK has bolstered its senior management team with the promotion of Tom Steele to the role of sales director.
The coding and marking specialist said it has an ambitious growth strategy within the food, pharmaceutical, beverage, aerospace, automotive, electronics and homecare markets, coding and marking equipment manufacturer.
Stepping up from the role of technical sales manager, Steele will lead the sales team and oversea marketing activities while taking on more responsibility for the overall sales strategy and future company developments.
He said: “We’ll be continuing to develop the fantastic relationships we have with our existing customers to maintain our position at the forefront of high-performance coding and marking technology, whilst strategically engaging with new FMCG brands to explore previously untapped business opportunities.”
Neil Greatorex, Macsa ID UK’s managing director, added: “Tom brings a valuable breadth of experience to our leadership team and we’re delighted to have him on board to help steer Macsa ID UK’s growth strategy.
“His previous experience working with our customers across the business, knowledge of the coding and marking industry and understanding of the packaging market make him a perfect fit for this new position.”
