RUSSIA – Digital label printing machine manufacturer Flora has entered into a distribution agreement with Russia-based VMG Group.
This partnership allows Flora to distribute its advanced digital label printers in Russia, combining the company’s technology with VMG Group’s local sales network and market knowledge.
The collaboration aims to address increasing demand for high-quality label production in the Russian market.
Sunny Yu, vice president of Flora, stated that Russia’s label printing sector offers notable growth opportunities. He added that the deal will improve service to customers in the region.
Digital printing technology supports shorter production runs and customization, which can reduce material waste compared to traditional methods.
This approach contributes to more efficient label manufacturing processes.
In related industry developments, recent advancements focus on improving recyclability in labeling materials.
For example, four new label constructions have received certification to aid sustainability efforts in customer applications.
Additionally, UPM has launched a bio-based black pigment that remains detectable in recycling sorting systems, facilitating better recovery of labeled packaging.
Hybrid digital presses are also gaining traction, merging inkjet speed with flexographic finishing for versatile output.
