Food Africa and pacprocess MEA 2025: Powering regional trade and industry growth

EGYPT – Two of the Middle East and Africa’s most influential trade exhibitions, Food Africa and pacprocess MEA, are set to return to the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) from 9 to 12 December 2025, marking their 10th and 6th editions respectively.

Together, they will once again unite global and regional stakeholders driving growth in the food, processing, and packaging industries.

Over the years, Food Africa has established itself as a premier gateway to the continent’s rapidly expanding food and beverage sector. As Africa’s population edges toward 2.5 billion by 2050, the region’s food consumption and demand are projected to rise sharply.

According to industry forecasts, Africa’s food market could reach US$1 trillion annually by 2030, with food imports expected to hit US$90–US$110 billion by 2025.

Egypt remains at the heart of this growth. The country’s processed food exports climbed to US$5 billion in 2024, with major destinations including Arab countries, the European Union, and the United States.

This strong performance underscores Egypt’s strategic role as both a regional production hub and a vital gateway for international trade.

Running concurrently, pacprocess MEA, organized by Messe Düsseldorf, a member of the renowned Interpack Alliance, continues to shape the future of the region’s packaging and processing landscape.

As global and regional markets demand more efficient, safe, and sustainable packaging solutions, the event provides an unmatched platform for industry leaders to showcase innovation and forge new partnerships.

In 2024, the joint exhibitions attracted 1,018 exhibitors from 35 countries and more than 31,000 trade visitors.

Covering sectors from food and beverages to pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, non-food, and industrial goods, the events continue to serve as a catalyst for industrial transformation and cross-border collaboration.

Beyond the exhibition halls, both events feature strategic business initiatives, including the Hosted Buyers Program, which connects exhibitors with pre-qualified international buyers; a B2B Matchmaking Platform, which facilitated over 5,561 pre-scheduled meetings in 2024; and a specialized conference bringing together experts to explore emerging market trends, investment opportunities, and technological advancements.
