HP India’s new monster printer churns out 162 square metres per hour

The printer uses odourless, water-based HP Latex inks certified by UL ECOLOGO and UL GREENGUARD Gold, meeting strict indoor air quality standards for schools, healthcare facilities, and office environments.

INDIA – HP India has launched the HP Latex FS70 W Printer, a 10-foot industrial-class machine delivering peak speeds of 162 m²/hr, with outdoor-rated output at 117 m²/hr and indoor-rated speeds at 91 m²/hr, designed to help print service providers turn jobs faster without sacrificing quality.

The FS70 W ships with a 6L white ink cartridge for higher-margin specialty applications, alongside a 10L high-capacity ink system, optional overcoat printhead, and a jumbo dual-roll kit for extended unattended runs.

An embedded spectrophotometer handles color consistency across printer fleets globally, addressing a common pain point for multi-site PSPs managing brand color standards.

Productivity Kit and PrintOS Updates

Alongside the hardware, HP announced the HP Latex Productivity Kit for existing FS50 and FS60 owners, promising up to 30 percent productivity gains in key applications without requiring a full printer replacement.

The updated HP PrintOS Production Hub brings e-commerce order integration, automatic preflighting, and a unified dashboard to create an end-to-end connected workflow platform.

HP is positioning the FS70 W as a business expansion tool, not just a faster printer.

The combination of white ink capability, high-capacity ink systems, and extended unattended run features allows PSPs to take on jobs, such as window graphics, backlit displays, and specialty signage, that were previously outsourced or required multiple passes.

Sustainability Credentials

On the sustainability side, the printer uses odourless, water-based HP Latex inks certified by UL ECOLOGO and UL GREENGUARD Gold, meeting strict indoor air quality standards for schools, healthcare facilities, and office environments.

HP’s Planet Partners program handles supply and hardware recycling, closing the loop on consumables and end-of-life equipment.

Vitesh Sharma, Country Head for HP’s Large Format Printing Business across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, described India as a “dynamic and fast-evolving market” and said the FS70 W further rounds out a portfolio that already includes the recently launched R530, which handles both rigid and flexible media.

Market Context

The Indian large format printing market has seen accelerated demand across outdoor advertising, retail signage, event graphics, and industrial applications.

HP’s FS70 W enters a competitive field where speed-to-job completion directly impacts profitability.

At 162 m²/hr peak speed, the printer can output approximately 1,300 square metres in an eight-hour shift, enough for roughly 430 standard 3ft x 6ft billboards per day.
