Konica Minolta unveils JETvarnish 3D Web 400 embellishment press, Memjet debuts DuraCore print engine

USA – Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA has unveiled the JETvarnish 3D Web 400, a fully web-fed digital embellishment press integrating spot UV coating, hot foil stamping, and variable data printing into a seamless single-pass process.

Touted as the only reel-to-reel system offering single-pass spot UV and hot foil embellishment, this device caters to the growing demand for high-impact, cost-effective solutions in the label and flexible packaging industries.

“Konica Minolta was ahead of its time when it introduced digital embellishment years ago,” remarked Frank Mallozzi, President of IPP at Konica Minolta.

“The JETvarnish 3D Web 400 exemplifies our commitment to innovation by enabling attention-grabbing materials that boost profit margins. Its ability to produce embellishments even for a single unit significantly reduces labor and setup costs, making creative experimentation more accessible and affordable.”

This model is print process agnostic, capable of embellishing materials from offset, flexo, toner, and other printing methods.

Designed to enhance printed production with digital spot UV varnish and hot foil stamping, the press supports fixed or variable data, flat or embossed finishes, and caters to short, medium, and long runs.

Optional add-ons, including a flexo unit and semi-rotary die cutter, are set to follow the launch.

Feedback at Labelexpo Americas hailed the JETvarnish 3D Web 400 as a game-changer. With speeds reaching 42 meters per minute, it accommodates coated, uncoated, and synthetic materials, delivering unmatched productivity and versatility.

Memjet unveils DuraCore print engine

Memjet has introduced the DuraCore Print Engine, a cost-effective and scalable printing solution designed to deliver high-quality output across various applications.

The DuraCore supports sheet-fed, web-fed, simplex, and duplex printing, producing full-bleed CMYK color for diverse needs, including packaging, books, and promotional materials.

“DuraCore responds to our OEM partners’ core needs: outstanding quality, reliability, and profitability,” said Sunil Gupta, CEO of Memjet.

“This versatile technology empowers OEMs to achieve strong ROI while maintaining precision and performance.”

The DuraCore Tandem model houses two high-performance 12.77-inch Thunderbolt printheads, enabling speeds of up to 450 feet per minute (137 m/min).

Each printhead jets up to 240 liters of ink, and redundancy options ensure consistent performance.

With intelligent printhead control, optimized ink delivery, and advanced algorithms, DuraCore maximizes productivity while minimizing waste.

Designed with ModBus architecture, the print engine simplifies R&D for OEMs, offering easy reconfiguration for different applications, markets, and price points.

Compatibility with a Xitron RIP and Navigator controller ensures seamless integration into existing systems, reducing development costs and accelerating time-to-market.

Jason Thelander, CTO of Memjet, emphasized the importance of sophisticated data processing.

“DuraCore is tailored to integrate seamlessly into OEM workflows, providing exceptional print quality with flexibility across applications like transactional and security printing, folding cartons, and direct mail,” concluded Thelander.
