Metsä Board to redefine packaging at FACHPACK 2025

Metsä Board invites all interested visitors to their stand to learn more about the new state-of-the-art coating line, which is set to start up in October 2025.

FINLAND – Metsä Board, a leading European producer of fresh fibre paperboards and part of Metsä Group, will present its premium lightweight paperboards and 360 Services at FACHPACK 2025, on 23–25 September in Nuremberg, Germany.

Metsä Board will have a stand at FACHPACK 2025 to present its premium lightweight paperboards and 360 Services.

The premium lightweight paperboards and 360 Services is an ongoing £60 m (US$ 68.8 million) investment at the Simpele mill, set to commence in October 2025.

Metsä Board invites all interested visitors to their stand to learn more about the new state-of-the-art coating line, which is set to start up in October 2025.

The advancement by the Metsä Board will bring significant benefits in print quality, enabling high-performance food and pharmaceutical packaging that stands out on store shelves.

Furthermore, in alignment with Metsä Board’s 2030 fossil-free targets, the use of green energy in production at the Simpele mill is expected to rise from 89% to 98% by the end of 2025, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

The innovation will highlight its strength in packaging strategies in Scope 3 emissions, as Packaging materials often involve brand owners.

Metsä Board states that experts will be available to discuss how various material choices can impact packaging performance and carbon footprint.

Furthermore, the experts will present third party-verified case studies from various end-use areas to illustrate how data-driven decisions can support broader packaging objectives.

FACHPACK is one of the major events in Europe for companies that produce and utilise packaging, as well as exploring the latest technologies and trends.
