US – Kelso -backed Novvia Group has completed the acquisition of plastic, metal, glass, and corrugated containers distributor Innovative Container.

Founded in 2009, Innovative Container has been serving the Southern California market with a line of rigid packaging solutions such as pails, drums, bottles, jugs, jars, and cans.

Operating out of a 20,000-square-foot distribution facility in La Mirada, Innovative provides quality products and services to customers spanning a variety of end markets, including paints and coatings, chemicals, inks, food, and emergency preparedness.

Innovative Container owner and CEO Darren Williams said: “We are pleased to partner with Novvia as Innovative embarks on its next phase of growth.

“We thank our customers, employees, and suppliers who have enabled our success to date, and we look forward to delivering additional value to these key stakeholders as part of the broader Novvia organization.”

Meanwhile, Novvia Group is a global rigid container and life sciences packaging distributor for its domestic and international customers across myriad industries.

Through its family of dynamic companies, the firm has set a new industry standard as a national stocking distributor with a comprehensive suite of containers and supplies, trusted local relationships and 40+ years of best-in-class customer service.

Novvia Executive Chairman Ken Roessler said: “We are very excited to welcome Darren Williams and his team to Novvia.

“Innovative, like Rios and Auberst, represents a valuable component of our strategy to grow and strengthen our West Coast business under our regional platform investment, Rhino Container.”

Early this month, Novvia Group acquired another California-based distributor of plastic and metal rigid packaging solutions, Auberst Inc.

Operating out of a 7,500+ square foot facility located in Brea, Auberst offers customers operating in a variety of industries a broad portfolio of rigid packaging products, including plastic jugs, cylinders, bottles, pails, and metal cans and drums.

This acquisition strengthened Novvia’s presence on the West Coast and will be combined with Rhino Container, Novvia’s Chino, CA-based rigid packaging subsidiary, which Novvia acquired in December 2021.

“We are looking forward to the continued success and expansion of our West Coast footprint and are excited to welcome Auberst to the Novvia family,” concluded Novvia Executive Chairman Ken Roessler.
