Jason Crooks, president of PRI Plus, joins L&NW to discuss the company’s coating capabilities and new product line.

USA – PRI Plus has ramped up its operations through targeted investments aimed at supporting label and package printing clients.
The company recently added a state-of-the-art coater to its production line, expanding capacity for high-quality labeling solutions.
“Our new coater enables faster turnaround times and superior finish quality, helping customers stay ahead in competitive markets,” Jason Crooks, president of PRI Plus stated.
He noted that the equipment handles complex substrates with precision, reducing waste in the process.
A key highlight is the introduction of zillaBite, a UV-curable acrylic adhesive designed for broad applications.
This product delivers strong bonding while remaining solvent-free, cutting down on volatile emissions and improving workplace safety.
It maintains performance across temperatures and surfaces, from glass to plastics, without compromising on longevity.
According to company details, zillaBite supports eco-conscious manufacturing by eliminating traditional solvents, which often contribute to environmental hazards.
Production trials show it adheres reliably in humid conditions, ideal for food and beverage sectors.
Crooks added that early adopters report up to 20% efficiency gains in application speed.
In a statement, PRI Plus emphasized how these developments meet rising client needs for reliable, green materials.
The adhesive’s versatility extends to flexible packaging, where quick curing minimizes energy use. Overall, these steps position the firm to handle larger orders without delays.
Meanwhile, Henkel launched a biobased hot melt alternative called Eco-Pax in partnership with Packsize last November, targeting box sealing with reduced carbon footprints.
That product swaps petroleum-based formulas for plant-derived ones, aligning with demands for recyclable components in e-commerce shipping.
PRI Plus plans further enhancements, including expanded testing for zillaBite in pharmaceutical labels. Crooks indicated ongoing collaborations with printers to refine formulations.
As packaging faces stricter regulations on chemicals, such innovations gain traction among suppliers seeking compliant options.
The company’s growth trajectory includes hiring 15 new technicians over the next quarter, with an estimated US$2.5 million investment in the coater.
This supports a 25% rise in orders year-over-year. Clients benefit from shorter lead times, fostering long-term partnerships in a market projected to reach US$45 billion by 2027.
