MEXICO – ProMach, a global leader in processing and packaging machinery solutions, has made a significant move by acquiring Etiflex, a Mexican producer specializing in pressure-sensitive and RFID labels.

This strategic acquisition marks ProMach’s entry into the Mexican market while enhancing its labelling and coding capabilities across North America.

Based in Mexico City, Etiflex is a prominent converter of variable information-printed labels, tickets, and RFID labelling for diverse industries including food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and personal care.

Additionally, Etiflex manufactures tickets, badges, and bracelets for events and transportation sectors.

Mark Anderson, President and CEO of ProMach, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “We are delighted to welcome the Etiflex team to ProMach. Their integration into our business expands our label-converting capabilities and significantly broadens our portfolio of labelling equipment solutions beyond the United States and Canada.”

Following the acquisition, Etiflex’s workforce of over 500 employees will join ProMach’s Labeling & Coding business line under the leadership of Group President Alan Shipman.

This business line encompasses renowned brands such as ID Technology, EPI, Panther, Code Tech, and Greydon, offering comprehensive labelling solutions to North American customers.

ProMach’s integrated product portfolio includes labels and machinery, supported by 17 regional sales and service offices and eight label-converting facilities.

These facilities cater to a wide spectrum of label requirements, ranging from decorative high-volume or short-run labels using flexographic and digital technologies to RFID labels, specialty labels, and more.

The leadership team at Etiflex, including Co-Directors Sergio Shor and Ari Vonderwalde, will remain intact post-acquisition. Sergio Shor will assume the role of Vice President and General Manager, while Ari Vonderwalde will serve as Vice President of Operations.

In addition to the Etiflex acquisition, ProMach recently completed the acquisition of Zanichelli Meccanica (Zacmi), a leading supplier of filling, closing, and processing equipment for the global food sector.

This acquisition strengthens ProMach’s product offerings and reinforces its position as a major systems integrator and solutions provider in the packaging industry.

Mark Anderson commented on the Zacmi acquisition, stating, “The addition of Zacmi further bolsters our position as a premier supplier of filling and process technology. This acquisition expands ProMach’s packaging equipment portfolio, particularly in food can filling and seaming.”

Established in 1954, Zacmi is recognized for providing closing and sterilization machines for food and pet food products, as well as seamers for metal cans.

This acquisition aligns with ProMach’s strategy of diversifying and expanding its capabilities to better serve a growing customer base in various market segments.
