Redington, The Printer House forge strategic alliance to advance India’s digital packaging print sector

The partnership combines Redington’s scale and market reach with TPH’s homegrown engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

INDIA – Technology distributor Redington and New Delhi-based The Printer House (TPH) have entered into a strategic partnership that will see Redington market and service TPH’s Orient L&P series of digital inkjet presses, a collaboration poised to accelerate India’s transition toward digital printing in the packaging sector.

Under the agreement, Redington will handle sales, service, and consumables support for the Orient L&P range, leveraging its vast distribution network and technical expertise.

The partnership combines Redington’s scale and market reach with TPH’s homegrown engineering and manufacturing capabilities, marking Redington’s strategic expansion beyond commercial printing into label and packaging applications, a segment experiencing surging demand for shorter runs, faster turnaround, and on-demand customization.

“This collaboration is an important milestone in strengthening our digital print portfolio,” said Ramesh K.S., vice president of digital printing at Redington. “Through this partnership, we are proud to represent a high-quality Indian press that embodies innovation, sustainability, and adaptability.”

Manufactured at TPH’s Ballabgarh plant, the Orient L&P press showcases the evolution of Indian engineering in the digital domain.

The system integrates Konica Minolta industrial printheads and UV inkjet technology to deliver high-speed, high-resolution printing across a wide range of substrates.

Its proprietary ink delivery system, currently under patent, optimizes ink usage and ensures color consistency throughout production.

The Orient L&P series drew significant attention during Drupa 2024 and later at PrintPack India 2025, where visitors crowded TPH’s booth in Hall 14 to witness the press in action.

The strong response reflected a growing appetite among Indian converters for locally built digital printing solutions capable of meeting global quality standards.

“The growth in digital inkjet is reshaping how converters think about production,” noted Rishab Kohli, managing director of The Printer House.

“With rising demand for short runs and customization, we see the L&P press as a crucial bridge between traditional and digital printing for packaging converters.”

For Redington, which partners with more than 450 global brands across 40 markets, this partnership marks a step toward enabling local innovation with global reach.

The alliance aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in manufacturing and technological advancement under the Make in India vision.

“With the Orient L&P series, we’re not just adopting digital, we’re building it in India,” concluded Kohli. “The future of packaging print here will be powered by homegrown innovation.”
