SOUTH AFRICA – Rotocon has opened a 2,000 square metre facility and demonstration centre in Longmeadow, Johannesburg, housing a fully equipped Rotocon 450 flexo printing press, as the company signals a long-term commitment to South Africa’s label and packaging industry with the building purchased directly by the Aengenvoort family.
The move from the company’s previous facility took place in April 2026. At the heart of the new site is a demo centre allowing customers to validate performance, optimise applications, and identify new opportunities in real time.
The facility also incorporates customised spare parts management, digital ink storage systems, an advanced tooling division, and a specialised engineering team, alongside a fleet of delivery vehicles.
All operations are aligned with ISO-certified standards.
A Demonstration Centre for Real-Time Validation
For label converters, the ability to test substrates, inks, and tooling on a live press before committing to a production run reduces risk and shortens time-to-market.
The Rotocon 450 flexo press is designed for the label and narrow-web packaging market, segments where precision registration, consistent ink laydown, and rapid job changeovers are critical.
By installing a fully operational press in the demo centre, Rotocon allows customers to troubleshoot potential issues, optimise settings for specific materials, and train operators in a controlled environment.
Long-Term Commitment to the Region
The building has been purchased directly by the Aengenvoort family, signalling a long-term commitment to the market rather than a lease arrangement that could be vacated.
Rotocon is headquartered in Cape Town and Siek, Germany, with satellite branches in Cape Town, Durban, the US, and Asia.
The new Johannesburg site includes a reception area, executive boardroom, and modern office spaces designed to support customer engagement and collaboration.
Patrick Aengenvoort, executive director of Rotocon, explained that this investment reflects a clear strategic intent to strengthen the company’s position in the market and deliver exceptional value to customers.
He noted that Rotocon has invested significantly to ensure best-in-class service and support while creating a high-performance environment where the team can grow, collaborate, and consistently deliver excellence.
When the Demo Centre Becomes a Decision Accelerator
A flexo press that is just a brochure is a proposal. One that is installed, inked, and running is a proof point.
Rotocon’s new Johannesburg facility lets label converters put their own materials on the press and see results before signing a purchase order. In a competitive market, that real-time validation can close a deal faster than any specification sheet.
