This sophisticated system comprises eight robotic cells, extensive case and pallet conveyors, four pallet handling shuttles, and two stretch wrappers. It achieves an impressive production rate of up to 98 pallets per hour.
Interconnected with 28 packing lines, the system caters to the diverse needs of Unilever’s renowned brand, Knorr, manufacturing a wide range of dry nutrition products in various packaging formats, including pouches, bags, cartons, and multipacks.
Sidel’s robotic cells are ingeniously arranged into two clusters, each equipped with a central magazine for pallet storage, induction and compact shuttles for pallet handling, and multiple product in-feeds to ensure optimal robot utilization rates of 92%.
Furthermore, to accommodate Unilever’s master plan for site flexibility, Sidel proposed a space-saving conveying solution with spiral elevators to connect the packing hall with the pallet space, enhancing circulation and adaptability for future modifications.
Integrating seamlessly into Unilever’s digital process, the central palletizing system automates production order selection and configuration, streamlining operations and maximizing efficiency across the end-of-line setup.
In addition to collaborating with Unilever, Sidel recently introduced EvoFILL PET, a cutting-edge filler targeting the burgeoning water industry in key markets like China, India, and Turkey.
Focusing on family pack consumption and health-conscious consumers, EvoFILL PET delivers unmatched production speeds of up to 90,000 bottles per hour, supported by a reduced filler enclosure for controlled filling environments and gentle neck handling to preserve bottle integrity.
Featuring a versatile range of filling valves and compatible with bottle sizes from 0.1 to 10 liters, EvoFILL PET offers seamless format changeovers in both manual and automatic modes. Sustainability is at the forefront, with an integrated CIP system reducing energy consumption by 25% and minimizing water and chemical usage for external cleaning.
EvoFILL PET seamlessly integrates into Sidel’s complete systems and can be linked with the Evo-ON digital intelligence platform to comprehensively monitor filling parameters and performance.
