INDIA – SK Agrofood Tech has launched Temple-Tech, a dedicated division for Prasad packaging, securing partnerships with Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust and Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple, as the company reports an annual turnover of approximately INR 610 crore (approximately US$73 million).
The company has developed advanced packaging systems using PET, MET-PET, and PE films to create strong moisture and oxygen barriers, preserving offerings such as ladoos, dry fruits, and khadi sakhar.
Unlike conventional consumer packaging, Prasad packaging requires a balance between functionality, safety, and cultural sensitivity.
Engineering the Sacred
SK Agrofood Tech uses high-definition rotogravure printing enabling intricate, vibrant designs that reflect each temple’s spiritual identity.
All packaging is manufactured in controlled environments using European-standard machinery, ensuring food-grade safety and minimising contamination risks.
Pouches are engineered to be leak-proof, tamper-resistant, and easy to handle for high-volume temple distribution systems.
A senior marketing representative explained that being entrusted with packaging sacred offerings from institutions such as Shirdi and Siddhivinayak is both an honour and a responsibility, adding that the company approaches every product with deep respect to ensure the purity and sanctity of the Prasad throughout its journey.
Strengthening India’s Temple Economy
The partnerships highlight a growing intersection between tradition and technology.
By introducing standardised packaging solutions, SK Agrofood Tech contributes to improved hygiene practices, better storage, and efficient distribution systems within temple ecosystems.
These advancements help temple administrations enhance devotee experience, maintain quality standards, and comply with food safety regulations.
Sustainability as the Next Frontier
Looking ahead, SK Agrofood Tech is emphasising sustainability through Green Packaging initiatives for 2026, working toward mono-material structures that enhance recyclability without compromising performance.
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Mumbai, the company serves thousands of clients across India in FMCG, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.
When Faith Meets Flexible Packaging
Prasad is not a commodity. It is a blessing in a package. SK Agrofood Tech’s challenge is engineering a pouch that preserves freshness, prevents contamination, and carries sacred imagery, without compromising the devotee’s trust.
The Temple-Tech division proves that even the most sensitive packaging applications can be solved with technology and respect.
