EGYPT – TNA, a provider of food processing and packaging equipment, has installed two production lines for potato products for the Egyptian Army.

Tasked by the Egyptian National Services Projects Organization (NSPO) in 2020, TNA has delivered two complete production lines for potato products.

Specifically designed for Hash Browns and Rosti, the first line is capable of producing two metric tonnes per hour, while the second line, dedicated to French fries, wedges, and disks, produces up to 10 metric tonnes per hour.

Production efficiency is maximized as TNA provides every element of the production process, from potato washing and destoning to packaging products in bags.

In addition, TNA‘s expertise has enabled the integration of state-of-the-art distribution and arctic packaging systems, specifically tailored for frozen potato products.

In collaboration with Optima Solutions, formerly Getec Partners LLC, TNA has secured a prestigious contract to assist the Egyptian Ministry of Defence in achieving self-sufficiency in meeting the requirements of the armed forces, local markets, and export products.

The completion of both production lines in June 2023 marks the beginning of a transformative era.

Discussions are already underway to expand operations to include new potato products, such as sweet potatoes, as well as the processing of various agricultural products.

Meanwhile, in July, the company partnered with Mister Bee Potato Chips, an iconic American brand founded in 1951, to revolutionize its snack production.

TNA completely redesigned and optimized the company’s manufacturing site in Parkersburg, West Virginia, resulting in a remarkable 400% increase in capacity.

As the new owners of Mister Bee, the West Virginia Potato Chip Company, we recognized the need for a comprehensive upgrade to the existing frying and packaging machines. These machines were outdated and unable to meet the growing market demands.

The vision was clear: to create a manufacturing environment that could accommodate expansion while delivering exceptional product quality.

Working closely with Mister Bee’s operations manager, TNA’s expert engineers identified critical process improvements and proposed a customized solution.

The collaboration began with the meticulous redesign of the manufacturing space, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Microsoft’s HoloLens. This step ensured that the renovated facility was optimized for efficiency and productivity.

The results of the collaboration were outstanding. Mister Bee’s chip production capacity skyrocketed, enabling it to meet growing demand without compromising product quality.

Mary Anne Ketelsen, President of Mister Bee, expressed her satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “Previous machinery could only run at a speed of 20-25 bpm, whereas now with my new TNA machines, I can achieve a speed of 100-115 bpm. A very significant upgrade.”
