CZECH REPUBLIC – TOPPAN Packaging Czech, a subsidiary of the TOPPAN Group, has inaugurated the commencement of constructing a new facility in Most, situated in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic.
The plant will specialize in manufacturing GL BARRIER, a cutting-edge transparent barrier film developed and produced by the TOPPAN Group, catering to the burgeoning demand for eco-friendly packaging worldwide.
Dignitaries graced the groundbreaking ceremony, including His Excellency Hideo Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to the Czech Republic, Czech Senator Jan Paparega, and Jan Schiller, Governor of the Ústí Region.
Alongside TOPPAN’s Managing Executive Officer Masahiko Tatewaki and the deputy head of Global Packaging Hiroshi Suzuki, attendees gathered to invoke blessings for the safe and successful construction of the plant, slated to commence operations by the end of 2024.
The plant will serve as a pivotal hub for meeting the escalating requirements for sustainable products in the European market.
During his address at the ceremony, Masahiko Tatewaki expressed gratitude, stating, “I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who have supported our initiative in establishing TOPPAN’s inaugural Czech site in Most.
“Establishing a European base for our GL BARRIER business has been a longstanding aspiration. Over 15 years ago, as demand surged in Europe for transparent barrier packaging materials, our endeavor to establish overseas bases commenced.”
Tatewaki stated that their barrier film symbolizes a sustainable and recyclable product integrated with advanced global technology.
According to him, the construction of the new facility will be completed by the end of 2024.
