USA – UFP Packaging has launched Slot-Lock and Clamp-Lock 100, two new crate systems assembled without nail or staple guns, expanding its pneumatic-free portfolio to address workplace safety concerns while enabling reuse and reducing material waste.
The new systems join last year’s U-Loc 200, which introduced a patent-pending polyamide fastener designed to eliminate traditional tools linked to approximately 37,000 emergency room visits annually in the United States.
According to UFP Packaging, all three solutions can be assembled and disassembled without damaging components, making them suitable for reuse and helping customers limit material waste across their supply chains.
Meet the New Crates
Slot-Lock is a closed-style crate system engineered with CNC-routed interlocking panels secured with strapping.
The design eliminates any need for fasteners during assembly, making it particularly suited for aerospace, defense, medical device, and electronics applications where secure, contaminant-free packaging is critical.
The precision-routed panels lock together mechanically, creating structural integrity without metal components that could damage sensitive cargo.
Clamp-Lock 100 takes a different approach, utilizing steel L-bracket fasteners that can be attached by hand, no power tools required.
This open crate system is designed for commercial machinery, construction materials, and infrastructure-related goods where visibility and ventilation are important considerations.
The hand-attached brackets provide robust structural support while allowing for rapid assembly and disassembly in high-volume shipping environments.
U-Loc 200, introduced last year, employs a tool-free polyamide fastener and is intended for sectors handling automotive parts and heavy equipment.
The fastener’s design allows for repeated use without degradation, supporting circular economy principles by enabling crate returns and redeployment across multiple shipping cycles.

Robert Bilbrough, product development director at UFP Packaging, emphasized that even in mature markets like crating, innovation can meaningfully improve how work gets done.
