EMEA – DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions celebrated a major milestone at Labelexpo Europe 2025, marking 25 years of its Fast Thermal Processing system, a technology that has helped redefine platemaking efficiency and sustainability in the flexographic printing industry.
At the heart of DuPont’s booth stood the Cyrel Fast 1000 TD, which drew large crowds eager to witness its high-speed, solvent-free platemaking process in action.
The company also launched a special “Win a Fast 1000 TD” model competition that proved a hit among visitors.
“This Labelexpo turned out to be extremely successful for us,” said Jan Scharfenberg, Business Leader EMEA, DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions.
“It enabled us to not only showcase our latest equipment but also reconnect with many of our global customers and close several deals. Sustainability was a key theme this year, and our Cyrel Fast system embodies that commitment.”
The Fast Thermal Processing system, first introduced at the turn of the millennium, now boasts over 1,500 installations worldwide.
Its enduring success stems from continuous innovation, enabling converters to produce plates up to 75% faster while virtually eliminating solvents from the workflow.
The dry thermal process significantly reduces VOC emissions by 99.8% and lowers global warming potential by nearly half, according to DuPont.
Scharfenberg noted that the solvent-free operation and hands-free plate handling drew strong interest from converters seeking both productivity gains and environmental compliance.
“Converters were amazed by how quickly the first plate could be ready and the level of process automation achieved,” he added.
The emphasis on sustainable platemaking aligned with broader trends at Labelexpo 2025, where equipment manufacturers showcased eco-efficient solutions.
Asahi Photoproducts, for example, unveiled its AFPTM CleanPrint plates, designed to reduce ink usage and improve recyclability, while Flint Group presented new nyloflex® eco plates optimized for energy efficiency and extended plate life.
Together, these innovations signal a clear shift in the flexographic printing industry toward cleaner, faster, and smarter production technologies.
For DuPont Cyrel, the 25th anniversary celebrations underscored not just a heritage of leadership but also a renewed commitment to advancing sustainable printing solutions, ensuring that the next generation of platemaking remains as efficient as it is environmentally responsible.
