Capitolia enhances label capabilities with Hontec FlexiCon350 press installation

ARGENTINA – Argentine label converter Capitolia has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of a new Hontec 8-color FlexiCon350 flexographic press, equipped with an integrated gravure unit.

The investment marks a major step forward in Capitolia’s push for higher precision, flexibility, and print quality in the competitive label market.

Designed for thermal transfer label production, the FlexiCon350 combines the vibrant color accuracy of flexography with the superior ink density and coverage of gravure printing.

This hybrid setup allows Capitolia to produce visually rich labels across a wide range of substrates, meeting the growing demand from customers in food, beverage, cosmetics, and industrial applications.

The installation was completed by Capitolia’s in-house engineering team, led by Richard, whose technical expertise ensured a seamless start-up process.

Hontec praised the company’s initiative and professionalism, noting it as a model for how converters can independently manage advanced press installations.

Capitolia’s investment aligns with a broader trend among converters in Latin America embracing hybrid press technology to balance cost-efficiency and premium output.

In 2024, Brazil’s LabelMark Solutions installed a Nilpeter FA-26 hybrid press, while Mexico’s Printnova Labels adopted Mark Andy’s Evolution Series E5 to expand flexible packaging capabilities.

These moves reflect the region’s growing sophistication and readiness to meet global print standards.

By integrating Hontec’s hybrid technology, Capitolia is well-positioned to enhance production speed, expand material options, and deliver consistent quality for its customers.
