Vert’s 35,000sq ft Longmont digital packaging plant to enhance US Production for lifestyle brands

The facility consolidates digitally printed pouches, roll stock, and labels under one roof, removing the need for brands to coordinate multiple suppliers across formats.

USA – Vert has opened a 35,000ft² digitally enabled packaging facility in Longmont, Colorado, combining production of pouches, roll stock and labels at a single location to support fast SKU introductions and shorter lead times for lifestyle consumer packaged goods brands.

The new site, which uses HP Indigo digital printing technology, will support faster SKU introductions, lower minimum order volumes, quicker replenishment and shorter lead times for companies in natural products, food and drink, sports nutrition, supplements, pet treats and other lifestyle CPG segments.

At the outset, the site will run one HP Indigo CPO 25K Digital Press, with the company providing a base for possible future expansion.

Digital Printing and Production Agility

HP flexible packaging lead Bob Babich stated that by investing in HP Indigo digital print technology, Vert is helping brands bring products to market faster, reduce complexity and scale with confidence.

The facility combines digitally printed pouches, roll stock and labels at a single location, eliminating the need for brands to manage multiple suppliers across different packaging formats.

The HP Indigo CPO 25K Digital Press enables cost-effective short-run production, allowing brands to test new products, respond to market trends and avoid the high inventory costs associated with traditional flexographic printing.

With the ability to change designs on the fly without plate changes, brands can run multiple SKUs in a single production run, significantly reducing lead times and enabling rapid iterations and product revisions without the financial penalty of traditional printing methods.

Vert’s Operating Model and Growth Strategy

Vert was first established to serve heavily regulated sectors and designed its operating approach around short timelines, rapid product revisions and direct customer support.

Founder and CEO Dustin Steerman stated that Vert was built to help brands launch fast, validate demand, adapt quickly and scale smarter through the same ecosystem, noting that too many lifestyle CPG brands get stuck managing fragmented suppliers, long lead times and operational drag at the exact moment they need speed most.

The Longmont facility was built to remove those bottlenecks and help brands stay focused on innovation and growth, with Steerman adding that packaging is a growth lever when working with the right partners.

The new location increases Vert’s US production capacity while maintaining its commitment to heavily regulated sectors, where traceability, quality and rapid response to regulatory changes are essential.

The integration of digital printing, flexible packaging and label production under one roof positions Vert as a strategic partner for brands seeking to reduce packaging complexity and speed up their time to market.
