The system offers up to 97% product yield and preserves freshness and flavour, Sealed Air said, a figure that matters for foodservice operators facing recurring condiment waste and residual product costs.

USA – Sealed Air has introduced ZeroPrep, a hand-dispensing pouch system for condiment use in restaurant back-of-house operations, designed to reduce preparation and cleaning work associated with squeeze bottles and rigid containers.
The pre-filled pouches are intended to reduce the work involved in preparing and cleaning squeeze bottles and other rigid containers during shifts.
Each pouch carries an easy-open seal and a spout allowing sauces and condiments to be dispensed by hand pressure, with the spout closing again between uses to limit dripping. The pouches remain hermetically sealed until first use.
By avoiding the transfer of condiments into bottles or secondary containers, the system is designed to reduce contamination chances while allowing staff to work without tools and store packs more compactly.
Yield and Freshness Targets Address Operational Costs
Sealed Air said the system can deliver product yield of up to 97 percent and help maintain freshness and flavour consistency during service.
That yield figure matters for foodservice operators, where condiment waste and residual product left in squeeze bottles represent recurring costs across high-volume shifts.
Hermetic sealing also extends usable life after opening compared with decanted formats, where exposure to air and handling degrades product quality over time.
Vertical Form-Fill-Seal Equipment Produces Packs at Speed
The pouches are produced on the new CRYOVAC brand ZeroPrep vertical form-fill-seal system. Sealed Air said the equipment combines two CRYOVAC films to create the pouch structure, easy-open seal, semi-rigid spout and hermetic seals.
The machine can produce packs in sizes from 8 fluid ounces to 16 fluid ounces at speeds of up to 80 packs per minute.
This throughput supports central kitchen and commissary operations where condiment packs are produced in volume for distribution across multiple restaurant locations.
Leadership Cites Efficiency and Food Safety Gains
Joe Lambert, vice-president of food for Sealed Air North America, said the company listened closely to customers to develop solutions addressing everyday challenges and creating meaningful value.
He added that ZeroPrep reflected that ongoing commitment by removing the tedious task of squeeze bottle preparation and cleaning, helping restaurants improve efficiency and employee experience while supporting food safety.
Last month, Sealed Air added a paper cushioning machine, the SEALED AIR brand ProPad Mini, to its packaging equipment range, targeting fulfilment sites where pack station space is limited.
