ACS Holding’s GIPEC returns to export markets with 80,000 corrugated packaging units to Mauritania after eight-year hiatus

This successful export to Mauritania showcases government efforts to promote industry, back export-oriented firms, and deepen regional African trade ties under its economic diversification plan.

MAURITANIA – ACS Holding’s subsidiary SACAR has exported over 80,000 corrugated cardboard units to Mauritania, marking GIPEC Group’s return to international markets for this product category after an absence of more than eight years.

The shipment, destined for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, represents the group’s first export of corrugated cardboard products in over eight years and forms part of Algeria’s national strategy to diversify the economy by promoting exports outside the hydrocarbons sector.

ACS described the operation as a strategic return for GIPEC to foreign markets and the first in a series of planned export initiatives aimed at expanding the regional footprint of Algerian manufactured products.

The holding company emphasized its commitment to strengthening the regional positioning of Algerian products while enhancing their competitiveness across African markets.

Quality and Competitiveness Drive Algerian Industrial Exports

ACS stated that the shipment demonstrates the quality and competitiveness of products manufactured by its subsidiaries, reflecting their growing ability to meet regional market requirements and international standards.

The successful export to Mauritania illustrates the government’s efforts to encourage industrial production, support export-oriented enterprises, and deepen commercial ties with neighboring African countries as part of its long-term economic diversification strategy.

The initiative supports Algeria’s broader ambition to reinforce its economic integration with African partners and establish the “Made in Algeria” label as a trusted and competitive brand throughout the continent.

The corrugated cardboard sector has been identified as a key growth area in Algeria’s industrial strategy, with the government providing incentives for manufacturers to expand production capacity and explore export opportunities across the continent.

Strategic Return and Future Export Plans

ACS said the operation marks a strategic return for GIPEC to foreign markets and constitutes the first in a series of planned export initiatives aimed at expanding the regional footprint of Algerian manufactured products.

The export aligns with Algeria’s national strategy to diversify the economy by promoting exports outside the hydrocarbons sector and increasing the contribution of manufacturing industries to external trade.

The company’s return to the Mauritanian market after more than eight years signals renewed confidence in Algerian industrial products and opens the door for expanded commercial relationships across West Africa.

The GIPEC Group’s capabilities in corrugated cardboard production are expected to be leveraged for further exports, with additional shipments being planned to other regional markets as part of Algeria’s broader non-hydrocarbon export push.
