The recycling program enables customers to recycle Amazon.ae packaging materials through easy-to-locate drop-off points.

UAE — Amazon UAE has launched a new packaging recycling initiative that gives customers across Dubai more than 150 convenient drop-off locations to recycle materials from their Amazon.ae deliveries.
The program, developed in collaboration with Enviroserve, a Dubai Municipality and Ministry of Environment–certified recycler, supports the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030 and Amazon’s global commitment to achieve net-zero carbon by 2040 under The Climate Pledge.
The initiative allows customers to recycle a wide range of packaging materials, including cardboard boxes, plastic mailers, bubble-lined envelopes, and packing paper, at strategically placed recycling stations in residential and commercial areas.
The drop-off points are designed to make responsible waste disposal easy and accessible for thousands of Amazon.ae users across the city.
Customers can locate their nearest recycling point by scanning the QR code printed on their Amazon packaging.
The code links directly to the Amazon Second Chance webpage, a digital hub that educates consumers about recycling methods and provides information on electronic recycling and product end-of-life programs.
“This program makes it easier for customers to recycle packaging while supporting the UAE’s sustainability goals,” said Prashant Saran, Director of Operations at Amazon Middle East, Africa, and Turkey.
“By pioneering this service in the UAE, we are building the infrastructure for more responsible practices. Collaborating with Enviroserve ensures that recycled materials are efficiently processed, diverting packaging from landfill and keeping them in circulation.”
Shashidhar Y S, Board Member and Managing Director at Enviroserve, noted that the partnership aligns with national environmental goals.
“Working with Amazon, we are making recycling more accessible to communities while supporting the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030,” he said.
“By ensuring packaging materials are responsibly collected and processed, we are helping to conserve valuable resources and reduce landfill waste.”
The program builds on Amazon’s ongoing sustainability initiatives, including Machine Learning–based packaging optimization that reduces material use, and its “Ships in Product Packaging” initiative, which eliminates additional delivery boxes when possible.
By creating a citywide recycling network and working with certified recyclers, Amazon UAE is reinforcing its commitment to circular economy principles and sustainable waste management.
The initiative marks a significant step toward achieving the company’s long-term goal of minimizing its environmental footprint across the Middle East.
