USA – C-P Flexible Packaging’s division Cleanroom Film and Bags (CFB) has expanded its portfolio of customized sterilizable packaging with the addition of Tyvek packaging material.

CFB’s sterilizable packaging made from Tyvek material offers microbial barrier, puncture resistance, and tear strength. It is suitable for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostic instruments.

The company said the Tyvek sterilizable packaging is compatible with gamma, plasma, autoclave, EtO and steam sterilization methods and meets the highest level of sterilization standards.

CFB’s Tyvek sterilizable packaging is available in a range of formats like peelable pouches and header bags.

C-P Flexible Packaging CEO Michael Hoffman said: “CFB has spent the past 25 years building a reputation as a trusted supplier of medical packaging with superior quality and lead times.

“This expanded offering allows us to fulfill the ever-increasing demand for Tyvek sterilizable packaging.”

Using its patented manufacturing process and package design skills, CFB offers a high degree of customization to satisfy each application’s particular needs.

The company provides a reliable supply of Tyvek packaging to makers of wound care products, implants, inhalers, surgical devices and medical instruments.

Based in California, CFB is engaged in the supply of sterile cleanroom packaging for the medical, pharmaceutical, electronics, aerospace, semiconductor and food industries.

In February this year, C-P Flexible Packaging partnered with Northwest Frozen, LLC to launch high-performance packaging for extended shelf-life refrigerated meals.

The new items included a frozen croissant-shaped gnocchi pasta product called Crocchi. The pasta is cryo-frozen and packaged in high-barrier, modified atmosphere containers.

Northwest Frozen LLC also produces high-quality frozen meals as private label items for the largest grocery retailer in the United States.

The new packaging delivers hermetically sealed meals with a specific, low-oxygen atmosphere inside the package to help keep the food fresh.

Preferred Packaging Div. of C-P Flexible Packaging worked very closely with Northwest Frozen to provide a lidding film that could seal on high-speed machines with high efficacy to crystalized polyester trays and even through contaminants such as sauces.

Seal integrity is critical throughout the distribution cycle. The meals are frozen and then sold in refrigerated temperatures at retail stores. Consumers can cook the meals directly in the trays either using a microwave or conventional oven.
