INDIA – Domino Printing Sciences has introduced the K300, a compact monochrome inkjet printer, to the Indian market following its debut at Labelexpo Americas in September 2024.
This new solution is tailored for converters seeking to enhance their analogue printing lines with variable data printing capabilities.
The K300 will be displayed at Labelexpo India, Hall 9, Booth A22, from November 14 to 17, 2024. Domino will also demonstrate the N610i digital label press and the K600i monochrome printer.
Visitors can also explore automated machine vision solutions from Domino Group Company, Lake Image Systems.
The booth will highlight the introduction of the cost-effective hybrid system, Domino N610i-H, integrated with UV Graphic Technologies equipment.
“The industry’s shift toward 2D codes at the point of sale has fueled demand for variable data printing. Many brands are incorporating complex 2D codes, like GS1-powered QR codes, into their packaging,” says Alex Mountis, Senior Product Manager at Domino.
“Converters need a versatile, reliable, and compact digital solution to meet these evolving needs, and the K300 was designed with these requirements in mind.”
Building on Domino’s K600i’s success, the K300 offers a flexible solution for printing variable data such as best-before dates, batch codes, serialized numbers, and 2D codes.
The compact printhead, measuring 2.1” (54mm) with a 600dpi resolution, allows flexible integration into printing lines and can accommodate two independent codes across a web width.
With speeds reaching 250m (820’) per minute, the K300 is designed to match the pace of flexographic printing lines, eliminating the need to slow down for variable data printing.
Advanced ink delivery features, including automatic ink recirculation and degassing, ensure consistent performance and minimize maintenance downtime. The printer also features a smart user interface for intuitive setup and operation.
“This printer opens up new opportunities for converters, allowing them to support brand customers with 2D code printing for traceability, anti-counterfeiting, and consumer engagement,” adds Mountis.
The K300 can print variable data on labels, cartons, and flatpack packaging, making it a versatile tool for late-stage customization in manufacturing, reducing inventory costs and waste.
Code verification is essential in variable data printing. Lake Image Systems will demonstrate its downstream machine vision system at the booth. This system allows converters and brands to validate each code, ensuring reliability and uniqueness.
Domino’s Chief Product Officer Tony McNulty concludes, “Our goal is to enhance customer efficiency while maintaining superior print quality.
“By combining our expertise in variable data printing with Lake Image Systems’ code verification capabilities, we deliver integrated solutions to meet converters’ evolving needs.”
