The certified environmental management system covers critical operational areas, such as energy and natural resource consumption.

GREECE – DRUCKFARBEN Group has reinforced its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy through a series of certifications and independent assessments covering both its industrial operations and flexible packaging product range.
Through its flexible packaging inks division, DF Inks, the Group has secured EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) certification for its production facility in Chalkida.
EMAS is one of the European Union’s most rigorous environmental management systems, and the certification confirms compliance with Regulation (EC) 1221/2009 following independent verification of environmental performance, legal conformity and continuous improvement processes.
The Chalkida site operates under a validated Environmental Statement for 2024, approved by management, covering energy and natural resource consumption, emissions control, waste and solvent management, and occupational health and safety.
The system includes strict controls for hazardous material handling, volatile organic compound (VOC) reduction, organized recovery and prevention systems, and certified fire safety and emergency preparedness infrastructure.
At Group level, DRUCKFARBEN was re-evaluated by EcoVadis in 2026, achieving an overall score of 71/100.
The result places the company in the 84th percentile globally and secures a Bronze EcoVadis Medal, ranking it among the top 35% of assessed companies worldwide.
The assessment highlighted strong environmental performance, supported by certified ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems, measurable targets for energy, emissions, water and waste reduction, and the implementation of VOC mitigation technologies.
The Group also reports in line with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and aligns its strategy with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The evaluation covers all Group activities, including DF Inks, KRAFT Paints and Bioclima.
Beyond operations, sustainability initiatives extend to product development. DF Inks has obtained “Made for Recycling” certification from Interzero for selected flexible packaging solutions.
The certification confirms compliance with European circularity criteria and anticipates requirements under the forthcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The certified solutions support mono-material polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) structures and have been tested in key EU recycling markets, achieving material recovery rates of up to 99%.
Among the highlighted products is PU Ultima Matte OPV (PUV001L0002), a one-component polyurethane matte overprint varnish engineered for high-recyclability flexible packaging applications.
By combining certified environmental management systems, third-party ESG validation and circular product design, DRUCKFARBEN Group is positioning itself as a responsible partner in the flexible packaging value chain, both in Greece and across international markets.
