Ducon secures aluminium smelter FCN contract with end-to-end supply, installation

The full scope covers end-to-end execution, including validating the FCN system’s performance guarantees and providing technical support staff throughout installation and commissioning.

INDIA – Ducon Infratechnologies has secured an end-to-end contract for the supply and service of a Forced Cooling Network System for potlines at one of India’s largest aluminium smelters, covering manufacturing, testing, packaging, transportation, installation, commissioning and technical support.

The contract, announced on 17 August 2026, positions the Thane-based EPC company to capitalise on India’s growing aluminium industry, with national demand projected to reach 8.5 million tonnes by 2030.

The complete scope encompasses end-to-end execution, including proving performance guarantee parameters of the FCN system, along with providing specialised technical support manpower throughout the installation and commissioning phase.

Strategic Positioning in Aluminium and Thermal Power Sectors

Building on this major win, Ducon is witnessing increased operational activity in the aluminium industry, which is experiencing massive capacity expansion.

The power industry is expected to add approximately 33,000 MW of coal-fired thermal power capacity in the coming years, with every new unit requiring high-capacity Fly Ash handling and environmental management systems, an area where Ducon commands proven engineering excellence.

Aron Govil, CMD of Ducon Infratechnologies, stated that the company is strategically placed to capitalise on unprecedented regional investments in Odisha, which he described as India’s aluminium capital.

Packaging and Logistics Scope in Industrial Contract

The contract underscores the importance of industrial packaging in heavy equipment supply chains, with the scope including specialised packaging for the FCN system’s components.

The end-to-end nature of the agreement also encompasses transportation and logistics management for the FCN system, requiring careful handling and packaging of industrial equipment for delivery to the smelter site.

The aluminium industry’s capacity expansion is expected to create additional opportunities for packaging and logistics services across the supply chain.

Ducon’s proprietary technology, single-source EPC capability, and established operational track record position the company to deliver long-term value, with management foreseeing high-margin opportunities across both the thermal energy and non-ferrous metals sectors over the next five years.

The order extends Ducon’s footprint across India’s aluminium and thermal power infrastructure landscape, with pipeline opportunities also emerging in Fly Ash Handling and Alumina Handling Systems.
