FirmaPak enters Canadian market with Easy Plastic Containers acquisition

The deal is also expected to broaden FirmaPak’s offerings in personal care and pharmaceutical packaging.

CANADA – US-based packaging manufacturer FirmaPak has expanded its North American footprint with the acquisition of Easy Plastic Containers Corporation, a Canadian blow moulder producing plastic bottles, for an undisclosed amount.

The deal marks FirmaPak’s first manufacturing presence in Canada and strengthens its position across key rigid packaging end markets.

Founded in 1979, Easy Plastic Containers operates two manufacturing sites near Toronto, Ontario, and serves a diverse customer base spanning automotive, health and beauty, food and beverage, industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.

The company was originally established by George Seretis and Chris Grigoriadis and is currently led by a management team that includes Nick Seretis, Andy Seretis, Geena Grigoriadis and Nick Vayenas.

Under the agreement, Easy Plastic Containers will continue to operate as Easy Plastics, a FirmaPak Company, with president Nick Seretis remaining at the helm. Seretis said the transaction would enable the business to accelerate growth while maintaining its customer-centric culture.

“Being a part of FirmaPak provides additional resources, capabilities and flexibility to support our growth, while preserving the responsiveness and relationships our customers value,” he said.

For FirmaPak, the acquisition adds Canadian manufacturing capacity to an existing US network that includes facilities in Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania and California.

The company expects the deal to broaden its offerings in personal care and pharmaceutical packaging, two segments seeing sustained demand for high-quality, compliant blow-moulded containers.

FirmaPak CEO Rob Goldberg said the transaction aligns with the group’s long-term growth strategy.

“FirmaPak continues to grow both organically and through strategic acquisitions,” he said.

“Adding Easy Plastics to the FirmaPak family enhances our ability to serve customers through additional locations and expanded packaging offerings. Easy Plastics has also earned a strong reputation for high-quality packaging and outstanding customer service, and we are thrilled that they chose to partner with us.”

The deal builds on FirmaPak’s acquisition-driven expansion in recent years. In June last year, the company acquired Lighthouse Packaging, a California-based blow moulder and decorator located in Corona.

That transaction extended FirmaPak’s manufacturing footprint to the US West Coast and added in-house decorating capabilities, while bringing Lighthouse president Ernie Hernandez into the group as a key leader.

FirmaPak’s portfolio already includes Container Services and Apex Plastics, both of which now operate under the FirmaPak brand, with production sites across the US Midwest and Northeast.

Collectively, the platform focuses on customer-focused manufacturing, consistent quality, on-time delivery and value-added services such as decoration.

PMCF Investment Banking acted as financial advisor to Easy Plastics on the transaction.

Industry observers note that cross-border consolidation remains a defining trend in the North American packaging sector, as manufacturers seek scale, geographic reach and broader capabilities to support multinational customers.

With the addition of Easy Plastics, FirmaPak strengthens its ability to serve customers across the US and Canada while reinforcing its presence in regulated and growth-oriented packaging markets.
