Graphic Packaging appoints Aditya Gandhi as Chief Accounting Officer

The appointment lands amid closer scrutiny of packaging producers’ costs and capital allocation, as investors watch sector-wide margin recovery and cash generation.

USA – Graphic Packaging Holding Company has appointed former AptarGroup executive Aditya Gandhi as vice-president and chief accounting officer, strengthening its finance leadership amid declining quarterly earnings.

Gandhi will report to interim chief financial officer Charles Lischer.

He previously served as chief accounting officer at AptarGroup and Sonoco Products Company, where he worked for almost five years, including four years as chief accounting officer.

He began his career in a senior technical accounting position at GE and later spent more than ten years at Deloitte, holding senior posts in its National Office and London practices, advising clients on complex accounting issues under US GAAP and IFRS.

Appointment Follows 77 Percent Quarterly Profit Decline

Graphic Packaging reported net income of US$24 million in the second quarter of 2026, a drop of 77 percent from US$104 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Both quarters were affected by special items and the amortisation of purchased intangibles. These non-recurring charges and net costs amounted to US$17 million for Q2 2026, compared to US$24 million in the prior-year period.

The profit decline underscores pressure on packaging manufacturers navigating input cost volatility, subdued consumer demand and integration costs following recent acquisitions.

Leadership Cites Track Record in Financial Operations

Robbert Rietbroek, president and chief executive of Graphic Packaging, said Gandhi brought an excellent track record, combining deep experience in accounting advisory services, finance and as chief accounting officer in the paper and packaging industry.

He added that Gandhi’s record of optimising financial operations would be valuable as the company continued strengthening its business and creating long-term value.

Company Serves Food, Beverage and Consumer Markets

Graphic Packaging has design and manufacturing sites serving the food, beverage, foodservice, household and other consumer products markets.

Gandhi said Graphic Packaging had a strong foundation and a clear focus on performance and value creation.

He added that he looked forward to partnering with teams across the organisation to develop people, strengthen finance capabilities and enable disciplined execution of the company’s business and financial priorities.

The appointment comes as packaging producers face heightened scrutiny of cost structures and capital allocation, with investors tracking margin recovery and cash generation across the sector.
