The packer is designed to be space-efficient while maintaining high throughput.

UK – Bradman Lake, a British packaging technology manufacturer, introduced the WR6X Robotic Wraparound Case Packer, a compact, high-speed machine designed to meet modern manufacturing demands.
According to the company, this innovative system addresses the need for increased packaging capacity without requiring additional factory space, making it ideal for businesses adopting sustainable, space-efficient solutions.
The WR6X was developed following a challenge from a major UK food manufacturer seeking a flexible solution to handle rising consumer demand and the growing trend of Shelf-Ready Packaging (SRP).
The machine features dual robotic arms that operate independently, allowing simultaneous handling of multiple stock-keeping units (SKUs).
This capability enables manufacturers to adapt quickly to changing market needs.
The system also includes low-level hoppers for easy replenishment, independent case management, and integrated labeling units, all within a compact footprint for seamless integration into existing production lines.
Dan Lake, Head of Sales at Bradman Lake Group, stated, “The WR6X combines advanced robotics with smart design to deliver a fast, flexible, and space-saving solution critical for today’s manufacturing needs.”
The installation process, completed during a scheduled production shutdown, involved collaboration with the customer to ensure minimal disruption.
Alongside the WR6X, a high-speed cartoning machine was integrated, and seven existing machines were serviced under a maintenance agreement.
Meanwhile, robotic systems like the WR6X are increasingly adopted to reduce material waste and energy consumption.
These systems optimize packaging processes, supporting eco-friendly goals by minimizing excess materials and enhancing recycling efficiency.
Industry reports highlight a 20% reduction in packaging waste for companies using advanced robotic packers in 2024, a trend expected to continue into 2025.
The WR6X’s design caters to the food and beverage sector, where demand for efficient, sustainable packaging is rising.
Its ability to handle diverse SKUs and integrate with existing systems makes it a practical choice for manufacturers aiming to streamline operations while meeting environmental standards.
As businesses face stricter regulations, such as the UK’s Plastic Packaging Tax, innovations like the WR6X provide a pathway to compliance and operational efficiency.
