USA – American beverage manufacturing company Niagara Bottling has approved an investment of US$48 million for the expansion of its existing bottling facility in the city of Temple, Texas, US.

The new development has been announced by the non-profit organization Temple Economic Development Corporation (EDC), which also acts as an economic development entity for Temple.

As part of the expansion project, the beverage manufacturing company will build a new warehouse at the plant. This work will help create at least 14 new employment opportunities at the site.

Niagara executive vice-president Brian Hess said: “This facility will allow Niagara to manage the distribution of new beverage products and serve important customers throughout the region.

“We appreciate the support provided to us by the city of Temple and the Temple EDC. The highly competitive and attractive location, transportation infrastructure and workforce, have helped fuel an important partnership between Niagara and the community.”

The initial announcement regarding the establishment of a new bottling plant in the city was made by Niagara in 2019.

With an initial investment of US$90 million, the 450,000ft² facility was then opened at Temple Industrial Park. The site was later expanded in 2020.

Temple EDC president and CEO Adrian Cannady added: “We are excited about what this expansion means for both Temple and Niagara, a strong member of our community’s growing food and beverage industry thanks to its growing operations over the past few years.

“Temple is a prime location for food and beverage companies, with national brands and homegrown businesses alike.”

Meanwhile, in January, the company announced an investment of u up to US$160 million to establish a state-of-the-art production facility near Hammond.

According to Niagara, the project would create 70 new direct jobs with an average annual salary of US$55,000.

Louisiana Economic Development estimated the project to create additional 100 new indirect jobs, for a total of 170 new jobs in the Southeast Region.

The new, highly automated facility will contain advanced equipment and technology that will increase production efficiency to allow the company to meet growing demand.

Louisiana was chosen over competing states and the Tangipahoa Parish facility will be Niagara’s first location in the state.
