The new team is led by Laura Haggerty, seasoned tobacco industry expert who was appointed as Account Director and Sales Account Manager for Tobacco.

UK – Flexible packaging specialist Parkside has launched a dedicated global tobacco team, reinforcing its position as a key player in the evolving tobacco packaging landscape.

The move follows a series of strategic investments in innovation to support the tobacco industry’s rapid transformation.

Parkside notes that the sector is undergoing a dynamic shift, driven by the emergence of next-generation products and reduced-risk technologies.

In response, the company has expanded its capabilities to offer sustainable, high-performance flexible packaging solutions for various tobacco formats.

The new team is led by Laura Haggerty, seasoned tobacco industry expert who was appointed as Account Director and Sales Account Manager for Tobacco.

With team members based in the UK and Malaysia, Parkside is well-positioned to support clients across global markets more efficiently.

“I’m excited to lead and shape our global tobacco strategy,” said Haggerty. “My focus is on strengthening relationships with existing clients, exploring new growth opportunities, and ensuring our solutions continue to exceed expectations.

“We are committed to delivering exceptional, innovative packaging that meets the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.”

Joining Haggerty is Eliska Dobson, Tobacco Account Manager based in the UK, and Lu Chay Wang, New Business Development Manager in Malaysia.

Wang brings extensive experience in the APAC tobacco market, further strengthening Parkside’s reach and insight in the region.

Parkside offers a diverse portfolio of tobacco packaging formats, including carton wraps, roll-your-own (RYO) packs, and stand-up pouches.

These can be manufactured using a variety of materials tailored to align with each client’s sustainability goals.

Options include foil laminates, PE, PET, PP, OPP, and paper-based substrates, each engineered to deliver the necessary barrier properties for product protection.

With this global team in place, Parkside aims to be a leading packaging partner for tobacco companies navigating industry shifts and rising sustainability expectations.

The company’s continued investment in innovation and international talent highlights its commitment to growth and customer-centric solutions.

In January, Parkside strengthened its commitment to fresh produce, meat, and dairy industries by launching a range of innovative lidding film solutions.

The award-winning flexible packaging specialist has expanded its portfolio, offering food brands, packers, and processors unprecedented customization to meet specific product needs.

Among the new offerings is Popflex, a monopolymer lidding film featuring laser-scored easy-open functionality.

Designed for recyclability, Popflex is compatible with PET trays and earned the Recyclable Packaging Innovation Award at the 2024 Sustainable Packaging News Awards.

The expanded range also includes recyclable reclosable films and a variety of monopolymer, compostable, paper, and standard polymer films suitable for diverse applications.
