ProAmpac expands pet food packaging lineup with QUADFLEX LFQ Quad-Seal pouch, PRO-EVO SOS bags

USA – ProAmpac has widened its pet food packaging lineup with the QUADFLEX LFQ quad-seal pouch for packs up to 40 pounds and PRO-EVO SOS multiwall paper bags, covering dry kibble, treats, freeze-dried products, retort packaging, and pet litter.

The company will present the advancements at Petfood Forum 2026 from 27–29 April in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Available formats include multiwall paper bags, woven bags, quad-seal bags, pouches, and rollstock.

Meeting the Demands of a Growing Market

The pet food packaging market has evolved as pet owners increasingly treat their animals as family members, demanding convenient, resealable, and visually appealing packaging that keeps food fresh. 

The 40-pound QUADFLEX LFQ pouch addresses the large-bag segment, where structural integrity and ease of handling are critical. 

The recyclable design responds to sustainability pressure from regulators and consumers.

PRO-EVO SOS bags provide a paper-based alternative for brands seeking to reduce plastic content while maintaining the grease resistance required for high-fat dry kibble. 

The multiwall construction prevents oil from seeping through and staining shelves, a common failure point for standard paper bags.

A Portfolio Built for Variety

ProAmpac’s broader pet food packaging portfolio serves products from dry kibble and treats to wet food and animal feed. 

The diversity of formats reflects the fragmentation of the pet food category itself: kibble requires different barrier properties than freeze-dried raw food; retort packaging for wet food must withstand high-temperature sterilization; pet litter demands tear-resistant, moisture-proof construction.

Recent Acquisition Expands Capacity

Last month, ProAmpac completed its US$1.51 billion acquisition of TC Transcontinental Packaging. 

TCP operates 25 facilities and employs 3,500 people across extrusion, printing, lamination, converting, and recycling, capabilities feeding directly into ProAmpac’s expanded pet food packaging production.

Nicole Cocuzzi, ProAmpac product development director, explained that Petfood Forum is an important platform to showcase how ProAmpac continues to evolve alongside the pet food market. 

She noted that with expanded capabilities, deep material science expertise, and a focus on sustainability, the company delivers packaging formats that help brands meet performance expectations while standing out in a competitive marketplace.

When the Pet Food Bag Goes Recyclable

Pet food packaging has lagged behind human food packaging in sustainability. 

ProAmpac’s QUADFLEX LFQ, a large-format, resealable, recyclable pouch, closes that gap. For pet brands, the choice is no longer between performance and circularity.
